SUMMARY

The Director of IT is the key relationship manager for DeMolay International information technology (IT) services. This position will oversee the ecommerce, a membership database and will manage effective operation of IT assets. This position will be responsible for support of local and remote users and systems. This position will also ensure strategic and operational alignment with organizational goals.

GENERAL ESSENTIAL SKILLS, EXPECTATIONS, AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The essential skills, general responsibilities and expectations for the Director of IT include but are not limited to:

Proven communication skills written and verbal to assist the all key stakeholders on uses of new DeMolay technology such as eScribe and other online reporting and ordering;

An excellent project manager and critical thinker who can handle and prioritize multiple projects at once and help solve all IT issues in an effective manner;

The ability to manage day-to-day IT operations such as ecommerce, membership reports, networking, database queries, and other IT administration;

The aptitude to understand the latest technology uses and ensure IT needs are met and effective processes are designed and followed;

Manage IT security, perform IT audits, emails, profiles, and website operations for all DeMolay International webpages in a WordPress and other online environments;

Knowledge in a desktop video capturing software as well as the Adobe Suite, specifically Photoshop, Premier, After Effects, Illustrator & InDesign with the ability to create tutorial videos for eScribe and other tech trainings;

Work with the Executive Director to build a service level agreement, understand computer hardware and software needs and on special projects as assigned.

COMPENSATION, HOURS, & PTO

Hours of operation are Monday-Friday, 8:30 AM-5:00 PM CST and on call for support as deemed necessary for major outages. DeMolay International allows 11 paid holidays a year. Depending on years of service, an employee is granted three to seven weeks of personnel time off (PTO) for vacation, sick, or personal.

QUALIFICATIONS - EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from a four-year college or university preferably inIT, Systems Management, Database Management, or Communications with a strong knowledge of modern IT and three to five years of experience in IT management, database support, or related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

QUALIFICATIONS - LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common business reports, financial reports, and legal documents in English. Ability to respond to inquiries or comments by both members and non-members, and/or complaints from constituents or members of the organization. Ability to effectively present information to management, public groups, and a Boards of Directors.

QUALIFICATIONS - COMPUTER SKILLS

Advanced ability to work in a computerized environment with a working knowledge of most HTML & SQL and basic networking hardware and software. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, WordPress, Adobe Creative Suite, and mass email systems. Knowledge of relational database is a plus.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk and sit. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision and color vision.

This position requires annual travel.
