Main Purpose
Support the Group Medical Director to seek corporate assurance of compliance against regulatory standards, quality indicators, care standards and regulatory requirements. Overall responsibility for monitoring and continually driving and positioning compliance with standards at the heart of everything we do.
Key AccountabilitiesQuality
1. Lead the inspection function of the corporate risk and audit team monitoring QPIs and significant quality data and leading the inspection in targeting inspections to sites where there are higher risks and to gain assurance that sites are meeting regulatory standards.
2. To have oversight of the actions taken by sites and progress against actions plans, and to report to the Group Medical Director progress.
3. Ensure regulatory inspections are done in a robust, independent and timely manner.
4. Work with the Divisional Directors of Quality to ensuring robust systems, tools and processes are in place across the group to ensure that compliance processes are implemented and reviewed effectively.
Innovation5. Working with the Director of Risk and Safety to contribute to the company’s overall strategic aims and business plans.
6. Exercise strong leadership in a style and manner consistent with the company’s values, ensuring the ever changing needs of group are fully satisfied.
7. Support the ISO 9001 accreditation process, due diligence processes, integrations and acquisitions.
8. Develop and update training and education packages across the group in relation to quality and regulatory standards, including those related to legal frameworks such as the Mental Health Act 1983 and the Mental Capacity Act 2005.
9. Keep up to date with all regulatory changes and consultation, inform the business of changes, risks and lead on changes required in regulatory inspections and action planning. Coordinate responses on behalf of the business to consultations by regulators or other matters relating to care standards or clinical practice.
Value10. Develop manage and maintain strong working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders in regards to complaints and incidents.
11. Be an ambassador for the group on regulatory compliance and continuous improvement, communicating key initiatives and driving the message of the importance of compliance across the group.
12. Hold Divisional Directors to account for progress against action plans and escalate as required to Group Medical Director.
Knowledge & SkillsExpert specialist knowledge of regulatory framework, leading inspections, implementing and reviewing quality improvement initiatives in a related business environment.
ExperienceDemonstrable, sound industry experience at a senior management level.
Must have evidence of project management and regulatory and improvement experience.
Experience of discussing issues with, and presenting findings to senior management teams.
Strong report writing skills with the ability to present information (both financial and non-financial) and recommendations in a clear and logical way.
Autonomy & ImpactFocuses on the strategic development of the function within the group, setting objectives and targets for reporting. Judgements, decisions and professional advice could have a significant impact on the commercial success and professional reputation of the profession and the group.

ResponsibilityStaff
The Regulatory Inspection Team, includes 3 Heads of Regulation and Audit and inspections for each function, Healthcare, Education, Social Care.
The Registrations and Licensing team which has its own Head of function and the administrative support and analytics for the function, providing data to the inspectors, managing integration and providing reports as required.
Budgets equipment
Support the Group Medical Director with overall managerial and leadership responsibility for the compliance function across the group.
Informatics
Overall responsibility for ensuring the confidentiality and security of all compliance data.
Communication & InteractionA major part of the role, the role holder will regularly be dealing with demanding and difficult situations, with a wide range of both internal and external stakeholders, requiring highly developed and well-practiced communication and interpersonal skills.
Key working relationships with Director of Risk and Safety, Divisional Directors of Quality and the Group Director of Nursing.
Working EnvironmentGenerally working within a pleasant and stable working environment, although problems faced by patients/pupils/residents/service users may present difficult and challenging situations, which may heighten the physical, sensory and emotional demands of the role.
