Forensic Health PsychologyServices

is a behavioral healthcare company providing comprehensiveservices in the area of forensic health psychology. We specialize in psychological assessment and treatment servicesforindividuals suffering with unremitting health problems, chronic pain, functional overlay, delayed recovery syndrome, or those demonstrating abnormal illness behavior.

When an individual with a personal or work-related injury fails to respond to standard medical treatment, or when pain becomes chronic and recoverystalls due to unexplained complications apart from obvious medical origins, an expensive and often frustrating process begins. When this occurs, the patient, the payer, the employer, and the various treatment providers often engage in oppositional and counter-therapeutic behavior, or resort to non-standard practices to gain closure. This usuallyresults in increased costs, reduced patient satisfaction, and prolonged case resolution. That’s where we can help.

provides comprehensive psychological assessment services to insurance companies, employers, workers compensation specialists, medical doctors, and attorneysthat untangle the sticky problem behind puzzling barriers in recovery, regression in functional improvement, and challengingpatient behavior. Very often in prolonged and complex cases, it becomes nearly impossible for treatment providers to differentiate between medical, psychological, emotional, motivational and personality variables that explain the individual’s atypical symptomand functional profile. Our robust and empirically validated assessment methodology provides objective data and analysis on a comprehensive array of inter-related factors (e.g., effort, malingering, conscious and unconscious motivations, consistency, over/under reporting, learning history, primary/secondary gain issues, ecological validity, socio-cultural influences, personality). Our assessment helps explain the patient’s delayed recovery, declines in previous functioning, and offers pragmatic recommendations for getting back on track.

also offerstreatment services designed to help individuals struggling with complex and multifaceted physical health issues that are confounded by psychological, social, relational, emotional, and occupationalfactors. Our time-limited, phased, and outcome-orientedtreatment protocol is designed to address specific biopsychosocial and behavioral domains, and is focused on helping the individual re-engage in recovery, develop increased psychological and physical functioning, and to reach maximum medical and psychological improvement.
