Citibank becomes the strategic partner for the Faculty of Economics and Administration, Masaryk University

Today, the representatives of the Faculty of Economics and Administration, Masaryk University, and Citibank Europe plc, organizační složka, signed a strategic partnership agreement between the two institutions.Martin Svoboda, Dean of the Faculty, and Kenneth E. Quinn, Managing Director of Citibank for the Czech Republic confirmed the document by attaching their signatures.

“The Faculty has gained a very strong partner from the financial field.The cooperation will not involve only internships and traineeships of the students in Citibank.Selected employees and students will for instance process demanding analyses for the bank and on the other hand, Citibank specialists will participate in assigning bachelor and master thesis topics," said the dean of the Faculty of Economics and Administration, Masaryk University,Martin Svoboda, and added:“The agreement is a long-term cooperation for a period of three years.”

Within the partnership, the largest lecture hall seating 400 seats will be remodeled and named Citibank Hall.Both institutions will also cooperate in the area of employee professional training and will provide material support for the other party.

“The close cooperation with the Faculty of Economics and Administration, Masaryk University, is a great contribution to us especially in finding talent," said the Managing Director of Citibank for the Czech Republic, Kenneth E.Quinn, adding: “Brno is highly important for Citi.For instance, we invested USD 10 million into opening a brand new operations centre here this February.”

“We believe students and graduates from the Masaryk University will see the attractive career opportunities Citibank offers not only in Brno but also in other cities as the best possible start of their professional career,” said Citibank HR Manager, Pavel Bořil.

Faculty of Economics and Administration, Masaryk University was founded in 1990as the first post-November 1989 faculty of Masaryk University to commence instructions in September 1991. Today, the faculty focuses on researching the financial markets and financial investments, banking, insurance sector, accounting, and taxes, competitiveness of the Czech economy, also on assessing the public sector efficiency, on development of organizational structures and corporate management, the use of corporate human resources, on regional development and its economic aspects.At present, the faculty has more than 4,000 students.
