Notes:
1. To correct float voltage for temperature use the temperature corrected cell voltage multiplied by the number of cells
2. If the applied battery float voltage has been corrected for temperature, no correction of the charge current measured is necessary. If the applied float voltage is not temperature corrected, float current at 77 °F is calculated by halving the current measured for every 15 °F the battery temperature is above 77 °F and doubling the current measured for every 15 °F the battery temperature is below 77 °F
3. If the electrolyte measurement will be level corrected the battery manufacturer’s generic level correction can be used, although it is preferable to have the battery manufacturer provide a specific level correction for the cell type used
4. An electrolyte SG measurement made at any temperature can be corrected to 77 °F (if not automatically temperature corrected when using an electronic hydrometer or density meter) by adding 0.001 to the measured SG for every 3 °F the cell temperature is above 77 °F and by subtracting 0.001 from the measured SG for every 3 °F the cell temperature is below 77 °F
5. A cell voltage measurement made at any temperature can be corrected to 77 °F by adding 0.003 V to the measured cell voltage for every 1 °F the cell temperature is above 77 °F and by subtracting 0.003 V from the measured cell voltage for every 1 °F the cell temperature is below 77 °F
