The Andy Gill Memorial Squash Championships enter their 34th year as the North’s premier early season event, catering for all standards of play, from the local league player to some of the games top professionals.

The championships were first held in 1984 following the tragic early death of Andrew Gill, the much loved and respected Lancashire county player.

The top 36 entrants will make up the A and B events with all other players placed into the C event.

A’ EventThe ‘A’ event will start on Thursday 31st Augustand will consist of the top twelve ranked entrants plus 4 qualifiers.

‘B’ EventThe ‘B’ event will start on Sunday 27th August, the four semi-finalists will be entered into the first round of the ‘A’ event on Thursday 1st September and will then return to the ‘B’ to contest the semi-finals and final.

‘C’ EventThe ‘C’ event will start on Saturday 26th August with two rounds being played on the first day before the 8 quarter-finalists join the first round of the ‘B’ event on Sunday 27th August, before returning to the ‘C’ event to contest the quarterfinals, semi-finals and final. Losers of their first match will be automatically placed in the ‘D’ competition.

‘D’ EventThe ‘D’ event will include all players losing their first match in the ‘C’ event and will run from Sunday 27th August.

All entrants will be graded and then the ‘A’ event will comprise of the top twelve ranked players, the next 24 ranked players will form the ‘B’ event, and all other players will be placed in the ‘C’ event. Any players who would only like to be considered for particular events should say which event they prefer on their entry form.

Entry fee £20.00 - A full copy of the draw will be emailed to all competitors

Matches times will between11.00am and 5.00pm on Saturdays and Sundays, and7.00pm and 9.00pm on weekdays
