Professional Experience:

Interpreter -Translator/Human Resources, Thule Inc. Franklin Park, IL 2001-Present

I am currently a human resources manager for a large international manufacturing corporation that employs over 200 people (90% of all employees are Hispanic). I manage all interpreting and translating responsibilities on a human resources and medical level, as well as business management. I am the interpreter at ConcentraMedicalCenter between all physicians and our employee’s for all accidental reports and claims, as well as any follow up and therapy visits. All medical reports have to be translated into Spanish for the employees and for medical records.

I teach Spanish once a week to all office personnel.

On a business level, I translate English/Spanish for all corporate meetings, manuals, company functions, teleconferences, office memos, company policies/laws, and e-mails.

Translating and Interpreting Consultant 2001-Present

I am a private English/Spanish interpreter and translator consultant. I provide simultaneous and consecutive interpreting services to Corporate Offices, Hospitals, Schools, and to Child and Family Connections of IL.

My areas of Specialization are Business (General), Entertainment (General), Law (General), Medicine (General) and Education (General).

Teacher Language Stars, Chicago, IL 2004-Present

I teach programs that are 100% Spanish for children ages 12 months-10 years. While most of our students are American children with little previous knowledge of Spanish, we immerse them completely in Spanish while engaging them in exciting activities that they enjoy. Our 9 language learning centers are located in Chicago and in suburbs around Chicago.

Front Office Manager Double Tree Club, Des Plaines, IL 2000-2001

I managed the front office, sales, and transportation departments with a strong emphasis in interpreting and translating. The majority of all employees were Hispanic, and all of their responsibilities, job functions, human resources related issues, and management had to be translated from English to Spanish or vice versa.

Teacher’s Assistant Bobby Noonan’s, Frankfort, IL 1998-1999

I gained valuable experience with children and childcare as a teacher’s assistant. Facilitating the educational, personal, and sometimes medical care of these young children was very important to me professionally as well as personally. I work well with children, and would welcome the opportunity to do so in a professional capacity again.
