What is the MICH Auction?

The Auction is a delightful evening of friends, food, & fun that raises funds to benefit enrichment programs and the Tuition Assistance Fund (TAF) at MICH. The Auction has two major components, a Silent Auction and a Live Auction. There are auction items in many categories and at every price range ~ something for everyone!

The Silent Auction is a great place to bid on items that could range from an alarm system to a zoo trip and everything in between. Another component of the Silent Auction is the Wish List. Teachers are invited to make a Wish List for their class and attendees may choose to donate funds to grant the wishes. It is a wonderful way to contribute directly to your child’s classroom and is totally tax-deductible as allowed by law. The Silent Auction occurs from 6 pm to 8 pm and takes place amidst conversation, cocktails and appetizers.

The Live Auction will transpire over a seated dinner. Live Auction items include vacation getaways, sporting memorabilia and, of course, the fantastically wonderful Class Projects.

The Auction Catalog, itemizing every item in the Silent and Live Auction, will be sent home with your student just before the auction. This will allow you to peruse the Auction items at your leisure and create a list of what you want to bid on, so you arrive at the Auction ready to bid!

When and where is the MICH Auction?

The MICH Auction is held at the Loews Annapolis, 126 West Street, Annapolis on Saturday, April 29th from 6:00 pm until approximately 10:30 pm.

Who will I sit with at the Auction?

This year we will be seating attendees so you do not have to worry about where to sit. There are three ways that seating will be done:

1 - Purchase a Patron Table for $1200 which includes auction admittance and reserved prime seating for 10. That’s just $20 more per person than the regular ticket price of $100. So consider getting a group of friends together and purchase a Patron table to support the school. Patron tables will be marked with a reserved sign and your name.

2 - List on your reply card the attendees with whom you have arranged to sit.

3 - We will seat you with other parents in your child’s class.

How do I pay for my Auction purchases?

Payment for auction purchases must be made that evening. Our cashiers will accept cash, checks, Visa, MasterCard, Discover and American Express. The Auction Committee prefers cash or checks, as we must pay a processing charge for all credit card transactions.

How Can I Help Make the Auction a Success?

Check the Friday Flyer and MICH PTO facebook for updates and help needed.

Donate to the Auction. This does not have to be a personal donation. You can use yourcontacts and get a business, relative or friend to donate.

Advertise or show appreciation in the catalog. Advertising space is not just to advertise a business. You can congratulate your student, thank a special teacher, put in a class picture, showcase your child’s artwork or be creative with your own idea.

Underwrite an Auction expense. Underwritten expenses increase the net proceeds of the auction, thereby directly helping MICH and all our students. Underwriters will be acknowledged in the catalog and on signs displayed at the auction.

Sponsor Staff Attendance. Your sponsorship will help cover the cost of having our teachers and staff attend the auction.

Buy a Patron Table to reserve seats together in a prime location for the Dinner and Live Auction.

Attend the Auction. Better yet, attend with a friend or family member and make it a night to remember.

What Do I Wear to Auction?
