Q and A

What is the certificate programme?

From September 2016, all parents who attend 7 or more different Twinkleboost sessions can earn a Free Twinkleboost training certificate in 'Supporting Speech and Language development in the Early Years' to evidence their learning.

What will I be learning?

Twinkleboost isn't just about fun stories, games, puppets, songs and messy, messy play! In addition to providing a stimulating class for babies and children, we also provide Speech and Language training to parents.

In every Twinkleboost class we introduce a key strategy used by Paediatric Speech and Language therapists to boost your child’s language development. You will get the chance to practice this strategy during the class and will be emailed follow up visuals and advice from our Speech and Language Therapy Assistant. Our Lead Speech and Language Therapist also posts more information about each strategy on our Youtube Channel.

Do I have to take an exam?

No. The certificate is an attendance certificate so you will not need to pass any exams. To gai the certificate you need to be able to evidence attendance at 7 or more sessions.

Do I need to attend 7 weeks in a row?

No, we understand that life sometimes gets in the way, babies can have off days and you may have other commitments. You may want to attend weekly, fortnightly or even monthly. As long as you complete 7 different sessions you will receive a training certificate.

What can this certificate be used for?

This certificate is evidence you have received introductory training in strategies to support children’s Speech and Language development. This could help you to gain voluntary or paid roles in nurseries, schools or services working with children and young people.

This certificate may help you to explore a career in Speech and Language Therapy or Children’s Therapy Services. It could also be a way to show continued learning and personal development during maternity leave or a career break.
