Fourth Sunday of Easter
Saint Peter plays a prominent leadership role in the first two readings, urging his listeners to be baptized and accept the gift of the Holy Spirit; and encouraging them to follow in the footsteps of Christ. We have just renewed our baptismal promises at Easter and the Holy Spirit dwells in us in a special way. Are we good stewards of those baptismal vows? Have we renewed our commitment to follow in Jesus’ footsteps? Have we opened our hearts to discern the will of God in our lives? Take some time to reflect on the importance of our baptismal renewal and our lives as disciples of the Lord.
MOTHER'S DAY MARIACHI DINNER & DANCE
On Saturday,May 13, 2017 at 7:00 p.m. (doors will open at 6:30 p.m.), The Fiesta Committee is sponsoring a Mother's Day Dinner, accompanied by Mariachi and dance to follow. Presale cost: Adults are $15.00 per person and Children are $10.00 per child (under the age of 12); admission includes a delicious dinner and dessert. At the door cost: $20.00 per Adult / $15.00 per Child. Come and spend a wonderful time with your mom, family and friends. There will be a raffle and silent auctionwith amazing items and a photographer to capture the moment. We are also having a Dance Contest with a $100.00 prize. Tickets will be on sale after all the Masses and at the rectory during normal business hours; tickets are limited. See you there, thank you for your support!

2nd COLLECTION ON MOTHER’S DAY
The second collection of each month will be dedicated to the Building Fund. This fund is to help repair and renovate our parish buildings. The next few months this collection is designated to replace the much needed Air Conditioner in our Church. Next weekend we will have a second collection in all masses to help us with the cost of the air conditioner. We ask you to be generous in our second collection next weekend. Private donations are also accepted at the Rectory or by giving it to one of our priests.
FIESTA MEETING
There will be a General Fiesta Meeting on Wednesday, May 17, 2017 at 7:00 pm in the Library. All parish, ministry and group leaders must be present!
FIESTA RAFFLE TICKETS
The Fiesta Raffle Tickets are here! Like every year, we are having a raffle with many great prizes and we ask everyone from our parish to help in selling at least one raffle book; the more raffle books we sell, the more successful our Fiesta will be. After all the Masses, there will be volunteers distributing the raffle tickets to our entire parishioners who are registered and not registered. This is a parish community event and it is important for all to participate and help; the majority of the proceeds are for the current needs of our church. Please stop by the tables outside every Mass or Parish Office during the week to pick your raffle tickets. Your participation is the key for the success of the Fiesta and the future of St. Ferdinand Church.

San Pedro juega un prominente rol de liderazgo en las dos primeras lecturas, impulsando a quienes le escuchan a ser bautizados y a aceptar el don del Espíritu Santo; y motivándoles a seguir los pasos de Cristo. Nosotros acabamos de renovar nuestras promesas bautismales en la Pascua y el Espíritu Santo habita en nosotros en una manera especial. ¿Somos nosotros buenos corresponsables de esos votos bautismales? ¿Hemos renovado nuestro compromiso de seguir los pasos de Jesús? ¿Hemos abierto nuestros corazones para discernir la voluntad de Dios en nuestras vidas? Tomemos un tiempo para reflexionar sobre la importancia de nuestra renovación bautismal y nuestras vidas como discípulos del Señor.
CENA CON MARIACHI Y BAILE
DEL DÍA DE LAS MADRES
El sábado, 13 de mayo del 2017 a las 7:00 p.m. (puertas abrirán a las 6:30 p.m.), el Comité de Fiesta esta patrocinando una Cena con Mariachi y Baile después para el Día de las Madres. El costo de preventa es de $15.00 por Adulto y $10.00 por niño (menor de 12 años); incluye deliciosa cena y postre. El costo de entrada en la puerta es: $20.00 por Adulto y $15.00 por Niño. Vengan y celebren a su mamá en compañía de su familia y seres queridos. Habrá una rifa y artículos para una subasta llena de bonitos regalos. También habrá un Concurso de Baile con un premio de $100.00. Un fotógrafo estará presente para tomar sus fotos como un bonito recuerdo. Boletos estarán a la venta después de las Misas y en la rectoría durante horas de trabajo. Hay cupo limitado. ¡Nos vemos allí, gracias por su apoyo!

SEGUNDA COLECTA EL DIA DE LAS MADRES
La segunda colecta de cada mes será dedicada al Fondo de Reconstrucción. Este fondo ayuda a reparar y renovar los edificios de la parroquia. Los siguientes meses esta colecta será designada al muy necesitado Aire Acondicionado en nuestra Iglesia. El siguiente fin de semana tendremos una segunda colecta en todas las misas para ayudarnos con el costo para aire. Les pedimos que sean generosos en nuestra segunda colecta el próximo fin de semana. Donaciones privadas también son recibidas en la Rectoría o dándosela a alguno de nuestros sacerdotes.
JUNTA DE LA FIESTA
Habrá una Junta General de la Fiesta el día miércoles 17 de mayo a la 7:00 pm en la Biblioteca. ¡Todos los líderes de parroquia, ministerios y grupos deben estar presentes!
BOLETOS DE RIFA
¡Ya están aquí los Boleto de la Rifa! Como cada año tendremos una rifa con grandes premios y pedimos a todos de nuestra parroquia que por favor nos ayuden en vender los boletos de rifa. Los más libros vendidos, más éxito que tendremos hacia nuestra fiesta. Después de cada Misa, habrá voluntarios distribuyendo los boletos de rifa a todos los feligreses que sí o no están registrados dentro de la parroquia. Se trata de un evento de la comunidad parroquial y es importante que todos participar y ayuden; la mayoría de las ganancias son para las necesidades actuales de nuestra iglesia. Favor de pasar por las mesas afuera de cada Misa o la Oficina Parroquial durante la semana para recoger sus boletos de la rifa. Su participación es la clave para el éxito de la Fiesta y el futuro de la Iglesia.
