The camera shifts to a close up shot of the chef, taken from his left shoulder. The camera looks down over the chef’s shoulder as he prepares some herbs on his work station. Green beans and a crate of peaches can be seen on the work top. The next shot is a close up of some tomatoes placed next to some fresh parsley. The camera then pans down to reveal some purple grapes.

“The business has grown massively over the last five years, only five years ago we were employing 70 people, we now have over 400.”

“Vehicle wise there’s over a hundred on the road across four sites – two down south, one up north and we’re based here at the head office in Lancashire.”

“We’re making deliveries all over the UK. A thousand deliveries a day, six days a week so having a petrol station, where we need it on those 110 routes is absolutely critical to us.”

“We’ve decided to partner with Shell Fuel Cards directly, as we can monitor fuel activity and we can monitor miles per gallon on vehicles and drivers so it helps me drive the financials of the business, which helps us invest.”

“It allows me to drill down into transactions and I can understand what we are doing out there when I’m sat in an office in Lancashire and I can know where we’re filling up in Brighton, in Scotland, in Liverpool or in Norfolk, that’s really good that I can see what’s going on and I can understand what’s going on.”

“To get the consistency is really important because we can understand the miles per gallon per vehicle and we can understand the miles per gallon per driver. “

The camera returns to an on board shot of a Wellocks truck driver sitting in the driver seat of his truck. His hands are firmly placed on the steering wheel and he surveys a junction as he leaves the Shell Petrol station. The camera moves swiftly back to the Wellocks employee standing in the warehouse and then to a shot of the exit to the fuel station. In the left hand corner of the shot is a ‘Way Out’ sign in yellow and red, in the distance a Wellocks truckdrives away, passing the Shell fuel station sign.

“If you had a mismatch of fuel it would be more difficult to understand that because different fuels have different qualities. So I can take a view on whether a driver needs additional training on how to drive a bit more efficiently and we can do all that by looking at the Shell portal and accessing it online.

The next shot shows another Wellocks driver approaching a truck; he opens the door to enter the vehicle on the driver’s side. The camera follows the driver, panning round to show him enter the vehicle, wearing a high-visibility jacked with the Wellocks logo.

The next shot shows the interior of the Shell station, the shot shows the driver approaching the till, he passes a cold fridge full of drinks and sandwiches and a deli2go stand filled with cakes and pastries.

“We really want to look after our drivers as we do with all our staff. We want a partner on the road who can look after our drivers with us, so having a Shell petrol station and having a clean station whereby they can go in and get something nice to eat and something nice to drink, use the facilities, that’s really important to us.”

The driver and a chef reach into the van, their backs to the camera, pulling out crates of vegetables, which are being delivered to the pub.

“It’s a business of sufficient size to operate with a business of where we are going. Given that we’ve grown from only turning over nine million five years ago to 50 million this year. I think the world’s our oyster.”

The camera quickly returns to Michael Beech standing in the warehouse and then to a close up shot of a chef plating a meal, as he delicately adds herbs to the dish. A close up shot shows the chef’s face, a focused expression on his face and then returns to the finished dish.
