New Business

  • Thank you to Nancy for her leadership as president.
  • Shape/Excel Award Submission Update – Nancy submitted the SHAPE document for 2016. Last Wednesday, Kristi submitted our Excel Award documentation. We should receive notice in April of what level award we would receive.
  • Women in Leadership Symposium Speaking Opportunities – table until Marcia is able to attend. The Board is asked to consider if they know speakers who can present at the Symposium. She had provided a list of topics for which they are seeking

Reports

  • Secretary (Pollard) – Nancy moved to accept the minutes. Edie seconded the motion and the motion passed unanimously.
  • Treasurer (Long) – Dues collected and program fees are included in the written report. An audit was completed last month with no findings. Dave Scarr is training to become the next treasurer. Rita moved to accept the Treasurer’s report. Dave seconded and the motion passed without dissent.
  • Membership(Tamecki) – No new members this month.
  • Program Committee (Cooney) – No report.
  • Seminar/ Education Committee/Scholarship(Bowersox) – The question was raised about putting notice of education opportunities on the website. It was agreed that we would market state and national SHRM events and include educational events we sponsor. Other opportunities, including Chamber events could be posted via link or otherwise as feasible and when of general interest.
  • Public Relations Committee (Pugh) – No report
  • Labor/Legislative (Nogle) – No report.
  • Workforce Readiness (Pollard/Peifer) – We have about 30 interview spots to fill. We may need to extend into the first week of April as a result of the snow last week that resulted in cancellation of three of the four days of scheduled interviews. The group agreed that Mr. Solomon incorporated the feedback we had given to improve the process.
  • Diversity (Brough) – No report.

Old Business

  • President Elect – Shirley has expressed an interest in potentially being our next president elect.
  • Certification Recognition status – Nothing to report
  • Salary Survey – No update at this time. SHRM – Compensation data report available, but this would not be local.
