٭Brian asked about watering S 4th street Sheryle reported that she is still watering. Discussion ensued about tree loss due to drought. Brian recommended the CityCouncil be given a heads up, for budgeting purposes, that DNR is predicting tree losses of at least 10%. The need to pursue grants for replanting was also discussed. NEW BUSINESS

٭ Sheryle reported that 28 trees werelostfrom the storm. Tree failure was largely due to poor root structure, trees planted too deep and girdling roots. The second largest cause of failure was poor branch structure. Stephanie wanted to go on record, that prior to the storm she reported a split tree in Collett Parkand Eddie Bird had it cleaned up the next day. If not for his timely response, the tree would have likely failed.

٭ Sheryle reported that the topic at the national conference was sustainability .

٭ Adjourn meeting.
