Technical Support Subsidy Offer Letter

First Nations SchoolNet is pleased to offer your school a subsidy for Technical Support. You may apply for a subsidy and have the payment issued to the vendor providing service.

Our funding agreement with Industry Canada restricts providing payment directly to the school.

Guidelines

  • Complete the attached form. Please note you must complete an application for each request for technical support. Please ensure an authorized school signing authority signs the application.
  • You must obtain three (3) quotes for service (only submit one). If you are unable to get 3 quotes please state this in a letter and attach it to your application.
  • Quotes must be obtained from certified technicians. In remote areas a quote maybe obtained from a qualified technician provided the technician has submitted a current resume indicating education and demonstrated experience
  • Each quote must outline the nature of the problem, recommended action, and cost including parts. Please ensure the vendor includes all known charges, including taxes, shipping and estimated travel costs where applicable. Travel may be reimbursed at current Industry Canada travel rates. Charges for services not included in the original quote cannot be added to the invoice.
  • We will review your application and notify you of the results in writing. If approved we will pay 100% of the first $2000. For amounts between $2001 and $5000 we will pay 50%, up to a yearly maximum of $3500 to any single school.
  • In other words, if your estimate is for $3000 worth of work, we would pay $2500.
  • If your estimate is for $1200, we would pay the technician $1200.
  • If the invoice is significantly higher than the original quote, we will only pay the approved amount. We will only honour invoices with a Technical Support Approval Form.
  • All services must be completed and invoices submitted prior to March 31, 2005.
