1 / Apologies:None
2 / Matter Arising from Last Minutes:
  • We have received a couple of suggestions for a club away day.
  • Louise was able to find out that the capacity for the rugby club – possible venue for this years presentation evening is 120.

3 / Treasurer’s Report:
  • Linda produced her report prior to the meeting with copies given out on the night.
  • Profit from the Tavy 13 was £3,600.

4 / Coaching & Competition
  • An amazing write up in this weeks Tavistock Times Gazette with regards to some of our recent achievements; Jenny Sabine setting a new course record at Exeter. Luke Cressey won 4 golds making him a quadruple county champion. Tess Masselink won gold in the Cornish County Championship which currently ranks her 3rd in the senior womens rankings in the UK!!
  • Support for the YDL has been weak – mainly due to injury & support in general to the leagues has been weak county wide.
  • Lots of our juniors did really well at this weeks BMC (British Milers Club) meeting with lots of PBs achieved – well done all.
  • On July 1st it is the Erme Valley relays, already lots of entries from TAC.
  • Another junior coaches meeting needs to be organised.
/ MED
5 / Tavy Carnival:
  • Not a lot has been done yet with regards to TAC taking part in this years carnival.
  • We’ve had no volunteers to help organise so far so Louise to check memberships forms to see who has offered help on these.
  • This years carnival theme is Rio.

6 / Meeting with the College Update:
  • Alison Horn has written to Martin asking to setup a proposal for a sports community facilities agreement. Martin and Alison to meet again to discuss this. Martin will reply to Alison to acknowledge her email.
  • Martin proposed to the committee that we pay off some more money towards the track so that we can never say we didn’t stick to our side of the agreement, it was proposed and agreed that the amount would be £2,000 – Martin to let Alison know.
/ MED
7 / Tavy Relays:
  • We have a new sponsor for this event – our very own Alistair Kinsey – Hearing & Mobility.
  • Entry forms have been sent out to all the local primary schools.
  • Martin to promote on social media
  • We are hoping to have chipped batons this year – to be tested out at the Erme Valley relays.
  • It would be great to see lots of our juniors taking part this year.
/ MED
8 / T Shirts & Vests:
  • Louise asked if she could procure more t-shirts & vests for the juniors – Martin will look into sourcing.
/ MED
9 / Other Business:
  • Coaches Kit – we used to have these and we are looking to introduce again, it is especially helpful for parents to know who to hand over their child to. Martin to get a selection of samples to bring to the committee to see what would be suitable & to discuss cost etc.,
  • Membership discount for coaches & leaders to be decided at EGM & AGM next, not to be given at the time of doing the course.
  • We currently have a very strong membership in both the senior & junior section.
