Successful soft opening May 1st, 2017

Ladies and Gentleman,
After three months a spending every spare hour turning an old fellowship hall into a state of the art dance studio, asking friends and family to help painting, building,remodeling, putting in a sprung dance floor, building mirrors, wiring sound systems etc... Dance Works of Troy opened its doors at 1915 5th Avenue on May 1st 2017.
We held our breath as we waited to see if there would be anyone for the first class. We were very, very, very surprised when so many of you showed up with flowers and good wishes for the studios success. So great to see students from our past studios showing up to take class. Christine and I were seriously touched by your show of support. Since that day in May we have met so many new and wonderful dance students from the Capital District. It has been anamazing summer teaching the Balanchine technique to so many talented dancers. Christine and I would like to thank you for your support and for making Troy feel like home.

Open House August 25th 2017 4:00-7:00

Dance Works will be holding its first open house on August 25th from 4:00-7:00 at 1915 5th Avenue. We welcome the community to stop by, say hello, see the studio and meet the teachers.
Dance Works is happy to announce it will be offering Ballet Technique, Pointe, Pre-Ballet, Jazz for student’s ages 4 years old to adult. We also have a beginner boy’s class.
At 5:00 we will be holding a placement class to place all new students in Division classes according to age and ability. Please be prepared with dance clothes, shoes and your hair up. If you are on pointe please bring your pointe shoes with you.
Adults do not need to take placement class. We offer 2 different classes for adults, Basic Ballet for Adults on Mondays from 12:30-2:00 and Intermediate Adult class on Fridays from 12:30-2:00
Dance Works offers Open classes in both Ballet and Jazz. These classes are designed for students 14 and up. They are a pay as you go class. If you would like to take all the open classes each week we have a special price for that. By doing this we are trying to accommodate those students who need the freedom of only a few classes a week verses those who would like a daily class.
We do encourage all students, whether child or adult, to stop by and register for the year. All students are required to register and fill out a new registration form every September. This keeps the studio’s information up to date. All students must have the form and the wavier signed before their first class. Children under 18 must need their legal guardian sign for them. There will be a $25.00 registration fee which helps offset cost of studio insurance.If you cannot make the Open House please call the studio and we will set up a time to audition your student.

Where do we go from Here

/ What’s next for Dance works of Troy?

We are hoping to bring many other styles of dance to downtown.
To include live music in some of our classes.
To be able to perform in the community.
To educate the community and student base about dance and all the dance forms available.
Most of all to share our love of dance and the dance world.

Grand Opening September 11th, 2017
Our Grand Opening will be Monday Sept 11th 2017. This will be our 1st day of classes for the school year 2017-2018. We are look forward to an exciting and productive year dance and to all the wonderful friends we will share this journey with.
