In compliance with the Article 57 of Act No. 131/2002 Coll. on universities, on amendments and supplements to certain laws as amended (hereinafter "Act on universities"and upon the Article 21, section 4 of the Statute of STU and Article 4 section 2 of the Admission Procedure Order of STU in Bratislava other conditions of admission for the study of engineering study programme (hereinafter only SP) Spatial Planning organized at the Institute of Management of the Slovak University of Technology in Bratislava (hereinafter UM STU) in Bratislava in the academic year 2014/2015:

In the academic year 2014/2015the Slovak University of Technology in Bratislava, the Institute of Management, plans to accept 50 applicants in the study programme Spatial Planning after fulfilment of conditions for admission.

The basic condition for admission for the study of engineering study programme is acquiring of the academic degree Bc. in the first level university study in study programme Spatial Planningor related study programme and complex application materials required by the IM STU.

Graduates from the first level university study programme at the STU who achieved in all subjects weighted study average (WSA) not worse than 2.00, can be accepted to the second grade without the entrance exam.

Graduates of the first degree study programme Spatial Planning at STU who in bachelor study do not achieve above mentioned results as well as all other graduates of the first level university study can be accepted to the second grade of the study programme Spatial Planning accepted on the base of successful completion of the entrance exam.

  1. Deadline for submission of application forms for the study and obligatory documents
  1. Graduates who accomplished university study in the first and second grade of university study and fulfil the conditions for the study in the study programme Spatial Plannig.
  2. Application forms are sent to the address: Slovenská technická univerzita, Ústav manažmentu, študijné oddelenie, Vazovova 5, 812 43 Bratislava until 31/05/2014.
  3. Applicants for study programme fill the form "Application for university study", or an electronic application form. It is recommended to submit the electronic application form (e-applicationform). Printing and subsequent sending of the printed electronic application form to the address stated in subparagraph 1 together with required enclosures in subparagraph 4) are inevitable conditions for successful electronic submission of e-application form for the study in STU.
  4. Annexes to application for study:
  • verified copy of state examination certificate
  • verified copy of university diploma
  • verified copy of annex to university diploma or verified copy of list of completed subjects and exams
  • structured c.v.
  • proof of entrance exam fee payment
  1. An applicant who applies for the study repeatedly after exclusion from previous study at STU or after abandoning it submits a new application form together with verified copy of bachelor diploma and verified copy of completed subject list or annex to diploma. Such an applicant is obliged to undergo the entrance exam.
  2. If the applicant completed the study abroad in the wording of the Decree of the Ministry of Education of the Slovak Republic No. 238/2005 Coll. on. Procedures for Recognition of Diplomas on Education, he/she will also submit confirmation of equivalence or resolution on recognition of completed university abroad.
  3. applicant with special needs must submit an application for the evaluation of his specific needs and set in the extent of support services according to admissions within the meaning of the rector regulation number 5/2013-SR -with-specific-potrebami.html?page_id = 6717 in order to create an appropriate conditions for passing the university entrance exam.Applicants with specific needs will have special method of entrance exam based on their specific needs.
  1. Date, form and frame content of the entrance test

The entrance test is on 25 June 2014. IM STU will send to applicants, minimum 2 weeks before the beginning of entrance exam, an individual invitation for the engineering study by registered letter. The main aim of the entrance exam is to verify professional capability of an applicant to study in the chosen study programme.

Framework content of entrance test

  • klausura work (spatial-planning document) - maximum 40 points
  • portfolio of project works and final bachelor diploma work 30 points
  • personal interview oriented mainly to defence of klausura work (spatial-planing document) and evaluation of portfolio - maximum 20 points
  • assessment of 1st grade study results - maximum 10 points

(an applicant submits the list of completed subjects - appendix to diploma)

Entrance exam consists of 2 parts and it is anonymous:

written part - kluasura work (spatial-planning document)

and

oral part - personal interview oriented mainly to defence of klausura work (spatial-planning document) and assessment of portfolio of project works and bachelor work

  1. The way of verification of entrance examination requirements

In both parts of the entrance examination an applicant can gain following points:

klausura work (spatial-planning document) - maximum 40 points

portfolio of project works and portfolio of project works and final bachelor diploma work - maximum 30 points

personal interview aimed mainly to defence of klausura work (spatial-planing document) and evaluation of portfolio - maximum 20 points

assessment of study results in the first grade of study (according to achieved weighted average from the diploma annex) - maximim. 10 points (WSA up to: 2.1 =10 b, 2.2 =9 b, 2.3=8 b,

2.4 = 7 b, 2.5 = 6 b, 2.6 = 5 b, 2.7 = 4 b, 2.8 = 3 b, 2.9 = 2 b, 3.0 = 1 b)

The accepted applicant is the one who gained at least 70 points.

5.The date and way of evaluation of the entrance exam results

The evaluation of results is reviewed by the committee for the entrance examination which is appointed by the rector of the SUT. The committee has even number of members, minimum is 3. The date of meeting for the entrance examination is 27 June 2014. The evaluation of the entrance examination results is done in the form of an anonymous point evaluation of particular tasks. The applicant result is evaluated in relation to total number of gained points. The order of accepted students will be formed on the basis of acquired points defined for a particular part of the entrance exam. An accepted applicant is the one who gained at least 70 points. Applicants with higher number of points Rector of STU will accept in the number which is for the study programme stated by the university.

The list of accepted applicants (according to order of summary point evaluation including points for entrance examination and evaluation of results from a secondary school) will be published on the website of the Slovak University of Technology, Institute of Management of the STU. The completion and delivery of the decision about the results of the admission procedure is accomplished in the wording of § 58 subparagraph 7 of the Act on Universities. The applicant can submit the request for reviewing of the decision on the result of the entrance examination by eight days since the day of its delivery to the rector of the STU. The application form is sent to the address: Slovenská technická univerzita, Ústav manažmentu, study department, Vazovova 5, 812 43 Bratislava.

Rector of the STU can call the second round of the admission procedure in the case the number of accepted applicants for the study programme Spatial Planning will not be sufficiently fulfilled (not sufficient number of applicants which the SUT planned to accept). Deadlines for the application form submission and entrance exam are published on the website of the Slovak University of Technologies, Institute of Management STU as follows: deadline for application form submission is 25 July 2014 and the date of entrance exam and meeting of admission commitee is 26 Aug 2014.
