Scientific Method Timeline and Work Days

  1. All of these steps should be completed on your project planner (this is what will be checked by your teacher, unless otherwise noted).
  2. There are TWO required checkpoints that MUST be signed off by your teacher.
  3. Since this project is done at home, the dates in parenthesis are suggested so that you’re “on track” for the final due date of Wed., 10.4.
  4. This timeline sheet does not replace reviewing the instructions reviewed in class, the project checklist or the scale--this is a supplementary tool.

Write a step by step procedure to complete your experiment (your experiment should be able to be recreated by another scientist). / Mon., 10.2

Create a data table for your specific experiment. Create in your planner, so you can record your data when you run your experiment. / (Sat., 9.30)
Decide if your graph is qualitative or quantitative; you will either need to take pictures of your experiment and results OR graph your data. / (Sat., 9.30)
Complete your experiment; double checking that your procedure is written correctly and accurate as you complete. . / (Mon.,10.2)

Write a rough draft of your conclusion using the tips and conclusion foldable as a guide; make sure all parts are included. / (Mon.,10.2)

FINAL Work Day #4: Tues., 10.3
Open a Google Doc and use the sample report as a guide as you format your FINAL report (heading, font size, numbering, bolded titles, graphs, images, etc.)
