· Manage all Workforce Investment Act services and staff of 30 at a public one-stop career center.
· Coordinate over $600k of contracted career services; assess participant needs; negotiate contracts; monitor and ensure contract compliance; develop and manage monthly claims and budgets; create, compile and submit client tracking reports to funding source; purchase materials and equipment; hire, supervise, train, and evaluate staff of 8 professional counselors and interns.
Community Relations and Technical Expertise
· Write, edit and produce grant proposals, workshop materials, resumes, job descriptions, flyers, newsletters, presentation scripts and news articles.
· Create, edit and administer website for student-focused career services program; write copy; create content and update web pages using web sitebuilder templates: http://cds.sdce.edu
· Conduct career-related media appearances; KPBS “These Days” talk show, KFMB, KGTV,KNSD and KUSI news segments and Union-Tribune newspaper articles.
