Requirements and Application Process

for the International Training Program in Pedagogy (ITPP) for the Visit

at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville (SIUE), USA in Fall 2018

Requirements:

Each potential participant will provide SIUE with an electronic copy of the following in English:

1. A resume or CV including educational background, employment history with job title,

publications, scholarly presentations, research interest, teaching interest, mailing address, contact email and phone number, birth date and place.

2. An official TOEFL/IELTS score report and/or CET score indicating English proficiency with a

score of 430 or higher on Band 6.

3. A statement of visiting objectives (no more than two pages, single spaced).

4. A copy of the biographical information page of the passport.

5. In addition, participants will provide video answers to the following 5 questions. Each applicantwill answer in English the following 5 interview questions in order and video record answers inapproximately 10 minutes total time for all 5 questions. The video recording should be saved inone file using the applicant’s full name as the file name, and then be uploaded to a public media web site. When ready, a link (requiring no password for access) to the video file and all otherfiles mentioned above (1-4) should be sent in one email to . Videointerview questions include:

1) Please provide evidence of your English proficiency levels in listening, speaking, reading,

and writing.

2) Why are you interested in the International Training Project in Pedagogy (ITPP) offered by SIUE in the fall semester of 2018?

3) What do you want to achieve during your visit at SIUE in the fall semester of 2018?

4) How will your visit at SIUE benefit faculty and students at SIUE?

5) Is there anything special you would like to share with the ITPP team at SIUE?

Selection Process:

Visiting scholars are selected by the International Training Program in Pedagogy (ITPP) LeadershipTeam, in consultation with other university administrators. Selection can be competitive and will bebased on:

Applicant’s level of English language fluency

Applicant’s professional objectives’ match with program goals at SIUE

Availability of appropriate courses for observations at SIUE

Availability of appropriate host faculty at SIUE

Application deadline:

May,3 2018 (China local time) for the visit at SIUE in fall 2018.
