RE: FOOD PROGRAM overseen by Mrs. Donna DeLoach, MS/AD/RN/N Food Program Administrator

Dear Parents,

GREAT NEWS- FREE MEALS AND SNACKS FALL 2013l

ACLC implemented the USDA Child Care Food Program for the 2013 – 2014 school year beginning September 1 for the East Campus, with a target start date of November 1, 2013 for the West Campus. This means that students in ACLC East assigned to rooms for students ages one to four began receiving breakfast, lunch, and afternoon snack at the new fall contract rates with no additional charges. Once theUSDA food program begins on the West campus, we will offer one dairy based and one soy based formula at no charge to babies from 6 weeks to 12 months, and beginning at 4 months we will have an assortment of baby foods available to serve under the direction of the families. We will not introduce any food group before the family is ready for the child to receive them. And the West Campus one year olds will be offered a morning breakfast, a mid-day lunch and a PM snack all at no extra charge.

ADVANTAGES

This relieves parents of the daily grind of packing these meals or absorbing the additional cost of having to purchase meals. Additionally, children enjoy having what their friends are having for snack and meals. And all meals must comply with USDA requirements so you know that your child is getting the proper ratio of protein, high fiber grains, veggies, fruits, and fluid milk every day at these two meals.

YOUR PART TO HELP US OFFER THIS SAVINGS TO ACLC FAMILIES

In order to qualify for the program it is necessary that our child care center provides information on each family - their size and incomes. Before bringing your child to the Center for their first day of school,we need each family to fill out the forms. They are then returned, signed to the business office, Michelle Osborn on the East Campus or Pat Cusick, on the West Campus. While you must sign your name, rest assured that this information is kept confidential, and no one will ask for any proof of what you write (such as no W-2’s, tax returns, etc). Thanks in advance for your help as we continue to work to provide the best possible programs for your children.Nutritious food at no extra cost is a real plus!

Blessings on you and your family, Cheryl Dykstra,ACLC Administrator

PS. You may contact the business office, 352-508-5501, or Donna DeLoach’s cell phone, 321-689-0380, if there are questions on how to fill out the forms.
