Title of Post:Training & Development Officer

Location:Working from Project 17, Resource for London 356 Holloway Road N7 6PA with some travelaround the UK

Salary:£28,485 (including inner London weighting) pro rata

Annual Leave:25 days pro rata + bank holidays pro rata

Description

The post-holder will support other organisations to work more effectively with migrant families with no recourse to public funds. S/he will focus on building capacity in other organisations in relation to section 17 of the Children Act 1989 and related provisions. The post-holder will also carry a small personal caseload, advising clients on their support options.

Main Tasks

A.Capacity building

  1. Develop and deliver training sessions on support options for families with NRPF
  2. Staff a telephone advice line for advisers, answering queries and recording information regarding calls
  3. Manage and deliver intensive support to a small number oforganisations to increase their ability to work with NRPF families
  4. Write and publish online materials and factsheets to support other organisations working with NRPF families
  5. Raise the profile of Project 17’s capacity building services
  6. Keep up to date with legislative and other changes affecting NRPF migrants
  7. Develop the service with support from the Director
  8. To ensure all policies, procedures and working practices maintain in line with quality standards

B. Advice work

  1. To carry a small personal caseload advising and advocating for migrant families with no recourse to public funds on their financial and housing options
  2. To ensure case recording systems are maintained and up to date in accordance with policies and procedures

C.General Duties

  1. To attend relevant training and development courses
  2. To be administratively self-serving
  3. To undertake any other related duties as required, consistent with the development of the post and the organisation
  4. To undertake occasional evening and weekend work
