REQUIRING all PARTNERS IN PARTNERSHIPS AND Certified Public Accountant (cpa) staff in FIRMS AND PARTNERSHIPS TO comply with the requirements UNDER Republic Act 9298 AND THE IMPLEMENTING Rules and regulations COVERING REGISTRATION AND ACCREDITATION OF CPAS IN PUBLIC PRACTICE.

WHEREAS Section 31 of Republic Act (RA) 9298 provides that individual certified public accountants, firms and partnerships of certified public accountantsengaged in the practice of public accountancy, including the partners and staff members thereof, shall register with the Commission and the Board, such registration to be renewed every three years;

WHEREAS as presently implemented, the partners and CPA staff members of partnerships and firms are not being registered or accredited;

WHEREAS, as a matter of effective regulation of the standards in public practice of the accountancy profession it is necessary to strictly enforce the registration and accreditation requirements for all CPAs engaged in public practice without exception;

NOW IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED that all Certified Public Accountants in Public Practice including partners and CPA staff members in partnershipsand firms shall comply with the requirements under RA 9298 and the implementing rules and regulations covering registration and accreditation of CPAs in Public Practice.

FURTHER RESOLVED thatpartners and CPA staff members in partnershipsand firms shall accomplish the accreditation form prescribed in ANNEX “A” and complete the requirements prescribed in the checklist in ANNEX “B.”

FURTHER RESOLVED that partners and CPA staff members in partnerships and firms have until December 31, 2015 to file their accreditation forms in the Professional Regulatory Commission, and to complete all the Continuing Professional Development (CPD) requirements in the checklist until March 31, 2016.

FINALLY RESOLVED that the partners and CPA staff members in partnerships and firms who will be completing their CPD requirements until March 31, 2016 will have to submit the Affidavit of Undertaking prescribed in ANNEX “C” together with their accreditation form.

Let copies hereof be further furnished the Board, Office of the PRB Secretariat, Standards and Inspection Division, Legal and Investigation Division, all PRC Regional Offices, Philippine Institute of Certified Public Accountants, and such other relevant offices for information and guidance.

This Resolution shall take effect after fifteen (15) days following its publication in the Official Gazette or any newspaper of general circulation in the Philippines.
