Postdoctoral Position
A Postdoctoral Scholar research position is available in the laboratory of Dr. Jill de Jong in the Department of Pediatrics, Section of Hematology-Oncology in the Biological Sciences Division at the University of Chicago.The laboratory uses transgenic zebrafish models of cancer and hematopoietic transplantation, molecular biology, genetics and bioinformatics to discover and evaluate new mechanisms that regulate hematopoietic stem cell function and leukemia. We seek a creative, self-motivated, intelligent, enthusiastic and hard-working applicant to study the genetic regulation ofcancer stem cells in T cell lymphoblastic leukemia. Candidates should have a recent PhD in Genetics, Cellular and Molecular Biology or a related discipline, as well as excellent molecular biology skills, and a strong interest in cancer biology. Previous experience with zebrafish and/or confocal microscopy imaging techniques is preferred but not required. Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English are critical. Salary will follow NIH guidelines commensurate with training and experience. Competitive applicants will have a proven track record of publications.
