Grey market vehicles also known as direct import vehicles (DIVs) are those that were not originally built for use in the United States (US). They do not meet US emission standards or safety standards. The ARB has separate regulatory programs for DIVs that are new (up to 2 years old) and for those that are used (over 2 years old).

MSD-G/05CARL MOYER LIST -

Includes, but is not limited to, parties interested in the Carl Moyer Program, which provides grants for the incremental cost of cleaner heavy-duty vehicles and equipment. MSD-A/09IN-USE SURVEILLANCE VEHICLES TEST REPORTS -

The ARB periodically conducts surveillance programs to assess the emissions from the vehicles exhaust and to evaluate I/M (Smog) program. The report is published on completion of the program.

MSD-A/10IN-USE SURVEILLANCE (RFP)/VEHICLE PROCUREMENT CONTRACT -

The Contractor will solicit the private vehicle owners for participation in a test program. The Contractor will deliver the vehicles to the State Laboratory in El Monte for testing.

Includes, but not limited to, equipment such as off-road motorcycles, all-terrain vehicles, golf carts, and other equipment/vehicles used for recreational purposes.

Includes, but not limited to, vehicles or engines that push or pull freight or passenger cars on fixed rails.
