“Over to You…” volunteers will be able to highlight the stories that they feel passionately about - it might be a community campaign or a piece of local history. It might be about business, music or sport, or even fly tipping and potholes. And we’ll also let the “Over to You…” team “take over” our social media.
HOW TO APPLY:
To take part you must live in BBC Radio Manchester’s broadcasting area and be aged 18 or over (there is no upper age limit).
You must be available to come into MediaCityUK in Salford on one or two days during the week of 18th – 24th March 2017. We will also ask you to attend at least one training session on 6th or 7th March. Some of the sessions will be in the early evening.
Places are limited, so we will hold a selection process to choose our final “Over to You” team. Please complete the following and submit by 15th January 2017.
- Write a short piece telling us a little about yourself (eg where you grew up, a bit about your family, career, interests and hobbies).
- List three areas of interest that would help us identify which programme would best suit you. Eg News, sport, music, gardening, religion, business, history, travel, business, weather, etc).
And either…
- In no more than 100 words tell us why you’d like to be involved in “Over to You…” Please include any ideas you have about what you’d like to do during the week.
Or…
- Send us a 30 second film or piece of audio about your ideas and why you want to be involved.

What happens next?
After the closing date we will consider all applications and will contact you about whether you have been invited tothe next stage at MediaCity UK. We are looking forward to hearing your stories for this new voluntary project.
