SHERI J. GEHRKE

Sheri Joi Gehrke is the president of Find Your Kumu, a self-improvement coaching company dedicated to uncovering, discovering and celebrating the passion within everyone. Sheri spent 15 years in the mortgage industry and loved every minute of the high-stress, fast-paced, often chaotic and hair pulling magic of this business. After literally losing it all in the recent mortgage implosion, she has found a peace and even an enormous gratitude in the experiences she has had. Sheri discovered through this immense challenge that it could be used as an opportunity to do what she loved most: assist others to find their purpose and incorporate that passion-filled purpose into the challenges we all face. Sheri brings genuine warmth, love and humor to the subject of trials, tribulations and finding the positive in any situation. By showing you how to be true to yourself, realize your passion and confidently know you create your own reality, you can face any situation with love, grace and knowing that everything always works together for our highest good. Sheri is a cheerleader for the soul and brings that enthusiasm to tough situations. Sheri grew up as the oldest of nine children and learned what leadership and positive, encouraging life management meant at a young age. She runs her business from the beautiful Pacific Northwest while enjoying the travel benefits her workshops and speaking engagements bring. Sheri currently resides in Happy Valley, Oregon with her two cubs that she adores.

DEBBIE WHITLOCK

It’s Nice to Meet You! In 2002, I co-founded Sound Financial Partners after starting my career in the financial services industry in 1996. I believe that you deserve access to good financial information regardless of the size of your portfolio. It soon became obvious that women in my community were incredibly under served as they addressed the financial issues they faced after the death of their spouse or divorce. In 2008, I was named “Woman of the Year” by Woodbury Financial Services, Inc. for my commitment to women and investing as well as my support of other women in the financial services industry. It was during this time after the encouragement and urging of many of my clients and colleagues I began to write my book. The message I kept receiving was that my work had an element that would allow me to scale it much larger and serve the needs of many women on a national level. I’ve developed a reputation for my practical no-nonsense approach to client education and enrichment and am frequently asked to comment in the media on issues surrounding women and investing, as well as speak to women’s groups on this same issue. Community service and volunteering has always been important to me and I currently serve as Vice Chair to the Advisory Board of Directors at LifeCenter Northwest, Secretary to Griefworks Board of Directors, and Secretary to the Bellevue Chapter of Business and Professional Women. I am an active member of the Greater Seattle Chapter of eWomen Network and serve on the Grant Committee. I live in Seattle and find balance in my life by spending time with my husband Pat, Harley our Black Lab, boating and with my friends. I hold life and disability insurance licenses in the states of Washington and Oregon, securities licenses 6 and 63 in the states of Washington, California, Michigan, New York and Massachusetts and am a CFP candidate through the AmericanCollege.
