POST TITLE: Venues Marketing Co-ordinator
RESPONSIBLE TO: Town Clerk
HOURS: 37 hours per week worked flexibly
SALARY: NJC scale points 29-32 (£25,,951-£28,485 + up to 10% Performance Related Bonus)
JOB PURPOSE
To provide effective marketing aimed at maximising bookings of Brackley Town Council’s venues (Brackley Town Hall, Old Fire Station Community Room and
Egerton Hall – new community facility on Poppyfields Way), manage social media activity and conduct show rounds.
JOB DESCRIPTION
1. MARKETING
i. Prepare and maintain a Marketing Pack and other appropriate advertising materials aimed at maximising bookings for all venues.
ii. Promote venues for events, weddings, parties, conferences, performances, local groups using traditional and social media.
iii. Ensure that local event organisers and wedding co-ordinators are aware of the venues
iv. Effective diary management to ensure use of venues is maximised
2. REGISTRAR LIAISON
i. Liaise with Registrar in relation to licensing of venue(s)
ii. Ensure venue(s) appear on approved listing
3. CATERERS/SUPPLIERS
i. Maintain a list of local suppliers for event services and consumables if requested (caterers, crockery, glasses, tablecloths, chair backs, balloons, disco, lighting, security, printers etc.)
4. EVENT ATTENDANCE
i. Meet prospective hirers
ii. Liaise with hirers re-forthcoming events
iii. Meet and greet at start of events and maintain contact for emergencies
5. CUSTOMER LIAISON
i. Meet potential hirers
ii. Provide tours of buildings, as required
iii. Maintain up to date Terms & Conditions
iv. Provide information on prices, availability, etc.
6. COMMUNICATIONS
i. Ensure office/finance staff are kept up to date with bookings for invoicing etc.
ii. Ensure accurate information is available to caretaking staff for room set ups
iii. Ensure caretaking, cleaning and maintenance staff are kept up to date with regard to bookings and room requirements
Up to 10% of salary will be paid as an annual bonus providing marketing/booking targets are met
PERSON SPECIFICATION
Experience/Knowledge
Essential
· Previous experience of Venue Marketing
· Previous experience of Venue, Event or Hotel Management
· Proven organisational and time management skills
· Previous customer relation experience
· Excellent IT Skills (MS Office – Word, Excel)
Education/Qualifications
Educated to a minimum of A-level standard (or equivalent) and with good command of the English language, both written and spoken.
Personal job related skills (all desirable)
