2. Liquid Hazard Area (LHA) / Ref (a,b)
a. Door from Weather deck to Liquid Hazard Area operates properly and does not require adjustment.
b. Are two portable lanterns installed in the LHA near OVHD, one at each end of the roller table?
c. Is a hands free capable intercom installed?
d. Are labels installed at the appropriate intercom units: "HANDS FREE CAPABILITY PROVIDED"
e. Is 1, hinged, scissor tray holder present and operational? Are hinge pins present?
f. Is retractable hose reel with squeeze nozzle present and connected to potable water supply?
g. Are labels installed at the proper quick disconnect fittings reading “FRESH WATER SUPPLY FOR FLUSHING THE WASHDOWN HOSE STATIONS” and “SEAWATER SUPPLY FOR PERSONNEL DECONTAMINATION”
h. Does horizontal hatch from LHA to VHA open completely and not impede patient transfer table range of motion?

g. Is label installed on the inboard side of the door leading from the CPS TP zone to the AAL: "NO ENTRY EXCEPT AS DIRECTED DURING CONTAMINATION RECOVERY OR EXERCISE"
h. Is label installed on the inboard side of the door leading from the CPS TP zone to the AAL: "DO NOT BLOCK CASUALTY DECONTAMINATION STATION EXIT"
i. Are labels installed inside AAL reading “PURGE TIME: 2 MINUTES”

5. Casualty Air Lock (CAL) / Ref (a,b)
a. Are 2 portable lanterns installed in the CAL?
b. Are two 4.5 in. Dia vents located on the top exit face of the CAL?
d. Is label installed on the inboard side of the door leading from the CPS TP zone to the CAL: "DO NOT BLOCK CASUALTY DECONTAMINATION STATION EXIT"
e. Does the CAL patient transfer table operate smoothly through its full range of motion?
f. Does CAL patient transfer table extend past the CAL/TFA horizontal hatch for efficient patient transfer out of CAL?
g. Are hook and eyelet fasteners present to secure CAL roller table to bulkhead?
h. Is one 2” Deck drain installed and operational?
6. Casualty Decon Station Labeling
a. The following 4 labels shall be located where specified:
1.Location: Before LHA Entrance from Weather/Hanger Bay
CASUALTY DECON PROCEDURES
EMERGENCY ACTION PRIORITIES
1. ADMINISTER CHEMICAL ANTIDOTE, IF AVAILABLE.
2. CONTROL RESPIRATORY FAILURE (PROVIDE ASSISTEDVENTILATION) AND/OR MASSIVE HEMORRHAGE.
3. DECON THE CASUALTY.
4. ADMINISTER ADDITIONAL EMT FOR SHOCK, WOUNDS, ANDILLNESSES WHICH ARE SO SEVERE THAT DELAY MAY BE LIFE ORLIMB THREATENING.
5. BRING THE CASUALTY TO MEDICAL AS SOON AS POSSIBLE.
TRIAGE IN CONTAMINATED AREA
1. REMOVE ALL ORDNANCE AND WEAPONS TO DESIGNATED AREA.
2. TRIAGE CASUALTY.
3. REMOVE ALL BATTLE DRESS ITEMS. PLACE IN TRASHCANS/PLASTIC BAGS.
4. REMOVE ATROPINE INJECTOR, 2-PAM CHLORIDE INJECTOR ANDNAPP TO DESIGNATED AREA.
WARNING: PLACE TWO FINGERS ON THE FRONT VOICEMITTER WHEN
DECONTAMINATING MASK TO PREVENT BREAKING MASK SEAL.
WARNING: IF RSDL COMES INTO CONTACT WITH MASK LENS REMOVE IT
IMMEDIATELY WITH CLOTHA DRY CLOTH.
5. DECON MASK AND RUBBER GLOVES USING HTH SOLUTION OR SDK
FOR CHEMICAL HAZARD. USE HTH SOLUTION FOR BIOLOGICALHAZARD.
6. DECON OVERBOOTS USING HTH SOLUTION.
WARNING: NO TWO CASUALTY DECON STATION DOORS ARE TO BE
OPEN AT THE SAME TIME.
7. UPON COMMAND TRANSFER CASUALTY TO LIQUID HAZARD AREA.

CASUALTY DECON PROCEDURES
LIQUID HAZARD AREA (LHA)
1. TRANSFER CASUALTY FROM LITTER TO LHA TABLE.
2. TAKE LITTER BACK TO WEATHER/HANGER BAY, REMOVE ALLBAGGED CLOTHING AND EQUIPMENT FROM THE PREVIOUSCASUALTIES AND CLOSE DOOR.
WARNING: DO NOT TOUCH CASUALTY’S BARE SKIN OR INNER
CLOTHING.
NOTE: CUT OFF OUTER LAYER OF CLOTHING IF CASUALTY IS NOT
WEARING INDIVIDUAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT (IPE).
3. UNBUCKLE SUSPENDERS THRU COAT (DO NOT REACH INSIDECOAT).
4. CUT OFF OUTER COAT AND ROLL AWAY FROM INNER CLOTHINGAND SKIN.
5. CUT OFF HOOD.
6. PULL OFF RUBBER GLOVES.
7. CUT OFF OUTER TROUSER AND ROLL AWAY FROM INNER CLOTHINGAND SKIN.
8. PULL OFF OR CUT OFF OVERBOOTS.
9. GRASP OUTER CLOTHING AND PULL FLAT UNDER CASUALTY.
NOTE: IF DIRECTED BY TEAM LEADER, REMOVE/REPLACE IV. IF THE IV
REMAINS, DECONTAMINATE USING HTH SOLUTION.
NOTE: OUTER CLOTHING WILL FALL OFF LHA TABLE INTO LHA WHILE
CASUALTY IS TRANSFERRED TO VAPOR HAZARD AREA (VHA).
WARNING: NO TWO CASUALTY DECON STATION DOORS ARE TO BE
OPEN AT THE SAME TIME.
10. OPEN VHA DOOR AND SLIDE TABLETOPS TOWARDS EACH OTHER.
11. UPON COMMAND TRANSFER CASUALTY TO VHA AND CLOSE DOOR.
12. PLACE ALL CLOTHING AND EQUIPMENT INTO TRASH CANS/PLASTICBAGS.
13. RINSE TABLETOP, SCRUB WITH HTH SOLUTION, RINSE AGAIN.
14. DECON GLOVES AND SCISSORS WITH HTH SOLUTION.
15.SIGNAL FOR NEXT CASUALTY.
3. Location: Vapor Hazard Area
CASUALTY DECON PROCEDURES
VAPOR HAZARD AREA (VHA)
WARNING: ONLY VHA PERSONNEL MAY TOUCH CASUALTY.
WARNING: DO NOT REMOVE CASUALTY’S MASK.
1.CUT OFF ALL INNER CLOTHING.
NOTE: COVER MASK CANISTER WITH HAND TO SHIELD FROM WATER.
2. RINSE AWAY DIRT, BLOOD, AND DEBRIS.
3. CUT OFF OR CUT AROUND BANDAGES AS DIRECTED.
4. REPLACE BANDAGES OR TOURNIQUETS AS DIRECTED ANDRINSE/DECON SKIN AROUND WOUND WITH 0.5 PERCENT HTHSOLUTION OR SDK.
NOTE: IF DIRECTED BY TEAM LEADER, REMOVE/REPLACE IV. IF THE IV
REMAINS, DECONTAMINATE USING HTH SOLUTION.
NOTE: INNER CLOTHING WILL FALL OFF VHA TABLE INTO VHA WHILE
CASUALTY IS TRANSFERRED TO CASUALTY AIR LOCK (CAL).
WARNING: NO TWO CASUALTY DECON STATION DOORS ARE TO BE OPEN
AT THE SAME TIME
5. OPEN CAL DOOR AND REMOVE PLASTIC BAG CONTAININGPREVIOUS CASUALTY’S MASK AND SLIDE TABLETOPS TOWARDEACH OTHER.
6. UPON COMMAND TRANSFER CASUALTY TO CAL.
7. CLOSE DOOR AND SIGNAL TO PERSONNEL IN CONTROL AREA ANDTOXIC FREE AREA (TFA)
8. PLACE ALL CLOTHING AND MASKS FROM CASUALTIES INTO TRASHCANS/PLASTIC BAGS AND MOVE BAGS TO LHA AS NEEDED.
9. RINSE TABLETOP, SCRUB WITH HTH SOLUTION, RINSE AGAIN.
10. DECON GLOVES AND SCISSORS WITH HTH SOLUTION.
11. SIGNAL FOR NEXT CASUALTY.
4.Location: Toxic Free Area(TFA)
CASUALTY DECON PROCEDURES
TRIAGE IN TOXIC FREE AREA (TFA)
WARNING: MEDICAL PERSONNEL MUST WAIT 2 MINUTES BEFORE
OPENING CAL DOOR TO ALLOW CAL TO PURGE.
WARNING: NO TWO CASUALTY DECON STATION DOORS ARE TO BE
OPEN AT THE SAME TIME (ONLY ONE CASUALTY AIR LOCK (CAL) SHALL
BE OPENED AT A TIME).
1. OPEN CAL DOOR AND SLIDE TABLETOP INTO TFA.
2. PLACE EMPTY PLASTIC BAG OVER MASK AND REMOVE MASK.
3 SECURE PLASTIC BAG WITH TIE AND PLACE ON CAL TABLE.
4. TRANSFER CASUALTY TO TFA.
5. SLIDE TABLETOP INTO CAL AND CLOSE CAL DOOR.
6. SIGNAL FOR NEXT CASUALTY.
