Role Purpose:

Responsible for researching, designing, developing and implementing business intelligence solutions using Microsoft SQL Server Data Tools including SQL, SSIS, SSAS, SSRS,MDX, DAX and Power BI.

This position will help provide risk analysis, change control processes, information needs analysis, and business intelligence systems architecture design and serve in an active mentoring role to other Business Intelligence Associates.

Key accountabilities

  • Lead BI/ETL development and mentor others on the team
  • Create Data visualisation solutions using any BI tool like (Power BI, Sisence, QlickView)
  • Design Conceptual & Physical Models, perform Data Mapping and Security implementation
  • Designing, developing, deploying and maintaining Business Intelligence solutions
  • Regularly communicate project progress, issues and risks to team leader or project manager
  • Design solutions based on ETL processes, cubes and dashboards
  • Evaluate and improve Corporate Data Warehouse and all reporting environment
  • Participate in Business Intelligence code and design reviews, reviewing others` code and having own code reviewed
  • Translate business needs to technical requirements

Qualifications and experience

  • Bachelor`s degree in a related area; master`s degree (or equivalent work experience) and Microsoft certifications are a strong plus.
  • 8+ years’ experience with Microsoft SQL Server Integration Services (2008, 2012 and 2014)
  • Strong commitment to deadlines and to client service (internal and external)
  • Creative and critical thinking ability; excellent troubleshooting and problem solving skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Experience in creating project estimates and timelines
  • Self-motivated and driven to produce quality products

Skills,knowledge and abilities

  • Proven ability to interpret data files and record layouts to map fields between multiple systems and database tables
  • Strong knowledge of relational & OLAP databases and data migration across the platforms
  • Strong experience of developing ETL for a Data Warehouse
  • Expert at developing and testing SSIS packages and SSRS reports
  • Expert Knowledge of Query optimization skills
  • Good experience of Power BI , SSAS Tabular and SSAS Multidimensional modelling
  • Excellent SQL, T-SQL, DAX, MDX, XMLA and Power Shell development skills
  • Good visualization expertise for dashboard using any BI tool like (Power BI, Sisence, QlickView)
  • Strong experience for Physical Modelling, Data Mapping and Security implementation
  • Experience in cube storage, cube optimization and data mining
  • Coordinate with external clients and participate in various technical meetings.
  • Experience of using any Source Control Software like Team Foundation Server/VSS/SVN
  • Experience in Waterfall, RAD and Agile development including usage of any Agile Project management tool like JIRA
  • Experience in Kimball and/or Inmon data warehouse architecture/design methodologies.
  • Working knowledge of data lake concepts
