Grade:-Entry Level £8.10 per hour (18+)

Responsible to:- Attendant team Leader

Key internal relationships:-Head of Site Support & Security , Attendant Team leader, Attendant Supervisor,Engagement Team Leaders,Attendants, Finance team, Human Resources team,Cleaning Supervisor, Cleaners, Events Coordinator, G&VS Team leader,Head of Food/Deputy, Catering Manager, Food Co-ordinator, Catering Supervisors Entrance Team Leader/Supervisors,all staff and volunteers

Purpose:-To assist in the smooth running of the museum on a day to day basis by providing effective support to teams across the museum and helping todeliver a world class experience for visitors in a living, working open air museum.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Work with colleagues, with an absolute focus on the Visitor, to help deliver a world class experience in a living, working Open Air Museum
  • Help to ensure the safe and good management and housekeeping of all areas of work including the lifting and movement of items around the site
  • Maintain attention to detail in all Museum activities ensuring all spaces are maintained in a period appropriate manner and period appropriate equipment is used when possible
  • Engage with visitors through providing operational and visitor care including management of queues and visitor flow when required
  • Provide support to Head of Site Support & Security and assisting as required/requested with on the day visitor feedbackand first aid calls
  • Assist in the preparation, clear up and on the day operational needs of events in liaison with the Attendant Team Leader, Events Coordinator and responsible Event Team
  • Assist with the careful maintenance of equipment storage ensuring items are returned and cared for in an appropriate manner
  • Assist in the setup of rooms for internal and external events
  • Assist with cash transfers on site/ off site as and when required
  • Assist with deliveries across the Museum including regular deliveries of post
  • Assist with emergency services and situations as and when required
  • Assist in ensuring a safe and secure environment for visitors, staff and volunteers ensuring appropriate risk assessments are in place for all activities undertaken
  • Adhere to quality systems and operating procedures to facilitate the safe, smooth and timely delivery of services by the Attendants Team
  • Assist with car parking as and when required

General responsibilities:

  • To carry out the duties of the post in accordance with the Museum’s Equal Opportunity Policy, Code of Conduct and Health and Safety legislation and regulations.
  • To carry out any other duties within the level of responsibility as may be determined from time to time.
