Introduction to the Final Assessment of Learning document

The Final Assessment of Learning document is to be undertaken collaboratively between student and field educator. We recommend that each party prepare information for each section and share this with each other, and then this report is prepared through a joint meeting to discuss achievements, issues, areas for development and future plans.

Please review the student’s My Professional Learning Tool, to assess how well the student has achieved their learning goals and most importantly if they can now clearly demonstrate knowledge and skills relevant across all Practice Standards. Refer to the Key above for guidance around the levels of capability.

IMPORTANT: To achieve an overall satisfactory grade for first placement, students need to demonstrate that they are either ‘Capable’ or ‘Beginning Capability’ across the Six Practice Standards. For some of the Practice Standardsyou may not be able to assess the student’s learning, as the organisational context does not present a learning opportunity in this area of work. For these practice standards you may nominate ‘UA’. However it is expected that these will be met in the student’s subsequent placementand that suggestions for development are discussed with field educators.
