Job Overview

As a Data Analyst, the successful candidate will be involved in the development of all aspects of the INTO North America data reporting infrastructure. S/he will develop, enhance, and maintain various reports, ensure data integrity, and help maintain and manage the current data structure. In addition, the candidate will need to be able to provide the expertise to acquire, manage, manipulate, and analysecomplex data sets and consolidate the results in a concise and meaningful manner.

Key accountabilities and duties

The primary responsibilities of the successful candidate will include the design, coding, testing, and performance analysis of SQL queries, stored procedures, views, functions, and agent jobs to ensure data can be appropriately gathered and exported in a useful format to the end user. The candidate will also be responsible for maintaining and managing current data warehouse structures, and ensure data accuracy and performance meet the requirements of the business.

Knowledge & Skills

This position requires excellent communication skills to work with many departments of the partner units (INTO USA, INTO UK, and the INTO JV Partners) and provide support. The candidate will also be responsible for maintaining and managing current data warehouse structures to ensure data accuracy and performance to meet the requirements of the business. S/he will be responsible for managing all aspects of automated and ad-hoc reporting, including the design, development, testing, documentation, maintenance and analysis of database queries and reports.

The specific responsibilities of the person filling this position include:

•Identify, analyse, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets

•Work with various product owners, business analysts and technical architects to develop reports from a set of requirements

•Develop high-quality dynamic reports within agreed timescales and scope

•Develop senior level management dashboards and summary reports

•Create and enhance business reporting solutions and influence process improvements

•Ensure data integrity according to North America business and operational requirements

•Define and implement data privacy and security processes, policies, and tools to secure data assets according to FERPA compliance and standards

•Create and manage Salesforce replicated data warehouses

•Monitor and optimize data warehouse performance and troubleshoot data warehouse issues

•Other duties as assigned

Essential Qualifications

  • B.S. degree or equivalent experience and/or training in Computer Science (or related field), Information Systems, Statistics, Economics, or Mathematics
  • Minimum 2-3 years’ experience managing SQL Server relational databasesand/or developing efficient T-SQL queries, stored procedures, indexes, views, functions
  • Minimum 2-3 years’ experience using SQL Server Reporting Services, or complimentary industry standard business intelligence reporting platform
  • Minimum 1-2 years’ experience in data mining techniques and procedures and knowing when their use is appropriate
  • Technical expertise regarding data models, linked servers, and database design development
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, primarily Excel and PowerPoint
  • Ability to easily and simply communicate with key stakeholders analysis trends and techniques as required
  • Must have the ability to work with large sets of data and analyse it to find conclusions. Ability to take a business problem and clearly define ways to solve the problem
  • Close attention to detail, conscientiousness of details. Must be vigilant in analysis to come to correct conclusions. Must be thorough and precise.

Desirable Qualifications

  • Extensive experience utilizing relational databases (SQL, Oracle)
  • Experience creating T-SQL scripts, Stored Procedures and Views
  • Extensive experience creating dynamic and automated reports using SSRS 2008 R2 or Later
  • Experience using Microsoft Power BI
  • Experience with Salesforce or CRM software
  • Proficient in the use of DBAmp, Salesforce
