GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF ROLE

Under the supervision of the Education Program Manager, the volunteer will assist in the implementation and management of the program and other programmatic or administrative tasks as assigned. The volunteer should expect to spend over half their time in the field, in Za’atari and Azraq Camps and in RI programs in the Host Community.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

  • Assist in day to day implementation and management of the program, meeting regularly with field coordinators, teachers, case managers, and other RI staff to ensure smooth program implementation.
  • Assist with procurement process and logistics of supply line.
  • Assist in the development of materials for staff trainings and workshops[RI1]
  • Assist in writing and editing proposals, reports, and other program documentation. Compile data from the field into bi-weekly and monthly reports.
  • Assist with ensuring that monitoring and evaluation tools are appropriate and functional, and use tools to report on program implementation. Assist with data collection and management.
  • Attend working groups and other coordination meetings on behalf of RI, report back to the organization about meetings. Take on roles within working groups as appropriate to ensure that RI is well represented within the sector.
  • Assist in the development of a strategy for community mobilization[RI2]Liase with teachers, case managers, and other staff in RI centers to ensure that community mobilization and outreach is maintained to increase and expand RI programming.
  • Assist with communication and coordination with external partner organizations and donors.
  • Perform other duties as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS

  • This position demands a dynamic individual with a demonstrated ability to learn and adapt to a fast paced environment.
  • BA or BS in social work, education, or related field
  • Experience working with children and youth
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Interest in Education/Social Work and a career in a Non-Profit Organization
  • General knowledge of world affairs and international/intergovernmental institutions, knowledge of current events and history in Middle East
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work independently, as well as part of a team
  • English fluency is required, good command of Arabic is strongly preferred
  • Necessary computer skills include word processing, Excel, data processing, Google Drive, Google Calendar, etc.
