NOTES FOR CONTRIBUTORS

1. The Journal’s policy is to acquire copyright in all Contributions. There are two reasons for this:

(a)ownership of copyright by the Publisher ensures maximum international protection against infringement

(b)it also ensures that requests by third parties to reprint a contribution, or part of it, are handled efficiently and centrally in accordance with our general policy which encourages dissemination of knowledge inside the framework of copyright.

  1. We will not withhold permission for any reasonable request from you to publish any part of yourContribution in connection with any other work by you, provided the usual acknowledgements are given regarding copyright notice and reference to first publication by us.
  1. If the Contribution is not accepted for publication, the rights revert to the present copyright holder.
  1. The Publisher (Professional Engineering Publishing Ltd) mandates the Copyright Clearance Center in the USA, and the Copyright Licensing Agency in the UK, both of which offer centralised licensing arrangements for photocopying in those territories and which have reciprocal agreements with similar bodies in other countries.
  1. The contribution may be published and/or stored electronically by us and then transmitted to meet individual requests. You hereby agree to the Journal making the necessary arrangements to include the contribution in document delivery services and electronic databases.
  1. Where the copyright is held by a number of joint authors, one of them may sign the form in a representative capacity provided he or she holds written consent from such co-authors for the copyright to be assigned to the Publisher.
  1. If you are a US Government employee and the Contribution was made in that capacity the assignment applies only to the extent allowable by US law.
  1. If you are an employee of the British Government then you should obtain a non-exclusive licence to publish this paper in the Journal in any format/media provided British Crown copyright is reserved.
