You will investigate the websites above to learn about the different types of renewable resources and what the advantages and disadvantages are of each. You will use the chart below to organize the information that you find. Try to list at least three advantages and three disadvantages for each resource.

Now that you have information about renewable resources, you must decide which is the best source and create a Power Point presentation and persuasive paragraph encouraging the public to use the renewable resource you think if the best. Your presentation and paragraph should highlight the advantages of your resource and try to highlight disadvantages of the others. The Power Point should be between five and nine slides. It should include pictures and animations. Remember: you want to persuade people to share your opinion. You will also turn in a paragraph citing your opinion and argument.

Objectives:

Students will analyze different renewable resources and determine their advantages and disadvantages.

Students will evaluate the different resources and determine which resource they feel is the best and create a persuasive presentation and paragraph about that resource.

Strategies:

Students do their own research on the resources rather than the teacher providing the advantages and disadvantages.

Teacher provides a rubric for presentation and paragraph so students know what is expected of them.

Teacher has given many different sources so that students have more than one source to read about the different advantages and disadvantages.
