It is time to elect the IAGI Board of Directors again. We have an excellent field of candidates that are willing to run your association.

The following is a biography of each of the candidates.

Carl Apicella

Carl is one of the founding members and secretary of American Environmental Group, Ltd. (AEGL), a specialty construction contractor providing services to the solid waste industry. He is responsible for the company’s geosynthetics division. Carl has more than 15 years experience in the environmental industry and has worked as a consulting engineering, landfill owner/operator, and contractor. He also managed the WENT Landfill project in Hong Kong for six years. Carl has a BS degree in chemical engineering. Installer

David Leggett

David spent 20 years in the coatings industry before joining GSE Lining Technology, Inc., Houston, Texas as the Vice President of North American Dealer Sales. He has built successful dealer programs throughout the United States for three companies. David is married to his high school sweetheart, has three children, and enjoys golf and riding his Harley-Davidson Heritage Springer. Installer

Brian McKeown

Brian has been involved in the geosynthetics industry for 15 years and has held senior level positions in manufacturing, sales, and construction. Brian has been Vice President of Construction for GSI since 1998. During that time, the company’s construction division has experienced rapid growth in manpower, project size, and complexity of installation techniques. Installer

Dave McLaury

“Demo” Dave McLaury is President of Demtech Services, Inc. a seaming and testing equipment manufacturing company located in California serving the geosynthetics installation industry since 1999. Prior to forming Demtech, Demo Dave was employed by Columbine for 14 years. His extensive knowledge of equipment designs as well as their use in fabrication and installation of geosynthetics would provide a fresh perspective to the board, especially on seaming related issues such as the IAGI Certification program. Dave has been involved with IAGI since 1996 and is currently an official proctor for the certification program. Associate

Dennis O’Brien (Incumbent)

Dennis has been in the field of geosynthetic installation for 18 years and is currently the Vice President of MPC Containment Systems, LTD. In many cases the quality of the installation can determine the success or failure of the liner. Only by having quality installers can the reputation and resultant increase in use of geosynthetics take place. As a Board member this would be the objective; to increase the quality of geosynthetic installers. Installer

John K. “Robbie” Robinson (Incumbent)

Robbie is president of Engineered Textile Products Inc., a fabricator/installer located in Alabama, which manufactures awnings, truck covers and geomembranes. Robinson started in the industrial fabrics industry in 1970 at tarpaulin manufacturer Brown & Brown. He acquired Brown & Brown in 1982, two years after starting Engineered Textile Products. He is a past chairman of the Industrial Fabrics Association International (IFAI) and a founding Board Member of IAGI. Installer

Anne Steacy (Incumbent)

Anne has 19 years of geosynthetics industry experience and has worked at both manufacturer and installation companies. For the past four years she has worked as a Regional Sales Manager for Poly-Flex Inc. She has been an active member of IAGI since its beginning and is currently serving as treasurer. Anne is strongly committed to the association and making IAGI membership synonymous with professionalism and quality in the eyes of our industry’s engineers, regulators and owners. Installer

William Steinke (Incumbent)

William has worked in the industry for nearly 30 years and is currently the Vice President of Steel Dragon Enterprise Co. Ltd., a supplier and installer of HDPE. He started in the business as a plant engineer at Carlin Plastic Taiwan, which provided PVC for above and below ground swimming pools. William also worked for Gundle Lining Systems performing field installations and provided consulting services to several Japanese companies on their HDPE installations. Installer

Lee Taylor (Incumbent)

Lee is President of Taylor Geosynthetics, Inc., which has been in business since 1977 and has installed geosynthetics since 1987. Lee is a current IAGI board member and a member of the Presidents Business Advisory Council. He is a US Navy Veteran and he attended PurdueUniversity. Installer
