Here Are a Few Things You Should Be Aware Of

Hello Parents!

The year is off to a great start with procedures, classroom rules, and schedules. Next week we will add a few more things to our weekly schedule, such as computers, Pride Time, and Wonderful Wednesday. By the end of September, we should all know our schedules! Thank you so much for reading and signing all the pages that needed returned. Your child will earn a Popsicle this Friday if they returned their forms by the end of this week. If not, they can still earn a Popsicle by returning their forms as soon as possible next week.

Here are a few things you should be aware of:

  1. Planners: Your child should be bringing home their planners every day. Students should fill out their planner in the morning, then we check it at the end of the day for homework, then parents should sign or initial each day of the planner before students bring it back to school. If there is no signature found, or if a student fails to fill out their planner, they will need to do one lap around the walking trail the next day at recess.
  2. Purple folders will go home on Fridays. Please take out your student’s work, and/or return any forms that need to be returned in the purple folders. All folders should be returned to school by Tuesday of the next week.
  3. Science: Even though we are not yet into some of the kits, we are asking parents and students to get some information before our next kit gets started. We are gathering information now because in winter (when we do our kits) we can’t always see the sun, moon, etc. So we are gathering information early.
  4. Homework: When I give students an assignment to complete, I give them time in class to work on it. If they get it done it will not be homework. If it is not finished, then it should be taken home to complete and be returned to the HOMEWORK BOX the next morning. Unless I give an extended time for completion of an assignment, daily work will be due the following morning.

I hope everyone is getting use to the school week; getting up early, going to bed at a scheduled time to get enough sleep, and getting ready to enjoy the Shelby Tiger game on Friday night, and games on the weekend.

Once again, thank you for entrusting me with your child this year.
