June 2009 CIC Conference Call Recap

The following is a summary of the topics that were discussed on the June 3, 2009 CIC Conference Call.

V10 Beta Testing Update:

Communication for Beta Testing will be done through the CIC Weekly. Two weeks prior to the Beta cycle for each product, notifications will be sent out via the CIC Weekly Newsletter instructing CICs on how to participate.

PCLaw Beta

  • PCLaw is in its final stages of the alpha testing
  • At this stage we are wrapping up our internal testing and addressing all issues identified
  • A communication will be sent out via the CIC weekly Newsletter two weeks before the Beta commences
  • Beta invitations will be emailed out to all certified PCLaw CIC’s
  • The email will contain information that provides the link to the entitlement along with the areas requiring testing
  • Beta Management
  • Beta Management will follow the same process as previous betas and information will be sent back to the PCLaw QA team as this aligns with the workflow the PCLaw Development Database

Time Matters Beta

  • Time Matters is late in the development and test phase for version 10.
  • We expect to provide notification in the weekly CIC newsletter at least two weeks prior to beta start.
  • Beta invitations will be emailed prior to beta start date and include instructions to registration on-line similar to NFR sign up.
  • The v10 beta entitlement will be a single database with three seats. Following this entitlement process enables the transition from the beta to the generally available release.
  • Beta management will once again be through the CIC forum.
  • Please look for the beta announcement in the CIC newsletter and your email invitation.

LexisNexisUniversity & Endorsement Credit Update:

  • LexisNexisUniversity – LexisNexis has developed this site to provide easier registration and a more efficient testing process for CICs taking certification classes. LexisNexisUniversity will also provide educational access to an un-served portion of the market. Unfortunately there are many small customers that choose not to engage a CIC. This site allows LexisNexis to provide this customer base with product education that would otherwise go unsatisfied. In order to provide customer with a full range of education options, we have included advertising for CIC training capabilities and a link to find a local CIC. This advertisement and link are both prominently displayed on the LexisNexisUniversity home page.
  • Site accessible for early release June 15th
  • Customer announcements regarding site will go out June 29th
  • Be sure and create your user profile information, select the CIC group and use the same user name and password as your SPN Portal.
  • If CIC’s register for PMAC by the early bird dead line of June 26th, they will receive one endorsement credit to be used toward a v10 endorsement training class. See FAQ for more information on endorsement credits
  • Endorsement training for v10 will be delivered via web training in the July/August timeframe. More details to follow.
  • Additional Endorsement training offered the 3rd day of PMAC in a live classroom setting. More details to follow.

PCLaw Pre-Launch AMP Promotion:

June 1, 2009 LexisNexis announced a new promotion to PCLaw users. This is not a public sale and is only available to existing PCLaw customers who are not on an AMP. PCLaw CICs interested in assisting with this promotion should send an email to Tim Jarnigan or Maryann Hafner for a targeted customer list. This promotion is not available for new PCLaw customer. New PCLaw customers may purchase an AMP along with the software and current prices. For existing PCLaw customer not currently on an AMP the following details apply to the promotion:

  • 30% off PCLaw Annual Maintenance Plans
  • Available to all PCLaw software users without an AMP before June 1, 2009; the promotion does not apply to customers currently on an active maintenance support plan.
  • To qualify, orders must be entered between June 1, 2009 and June 30, 2009 and include promotional code PEB10.

Target customers for the promotion include:

  • Existing PCLaw customers whose maintenance plan has lapsed or
  • Customers who did have an annual maintenance plan prior to June 1, 2009.
