UTS Disability Project Fund Application

Background

The Disability Project Fund (DPF) provides grants to UTS Faculties, Units, Institutes, Centres and individuals, who have projects that will help people with disability at UTS.

Guidelines for Applicants

  • All UTS staff and students are eligible to apply
  • Projects must be to the direct benefit of students or staff with disabilityat UTS
  • The DPF does not fund individual accommodations or projects which are an existing obligation under the Disability Discrimination Act or where projects are already within an existing budget
  • Minimum application $300, maximum application $7,000
  • Projects must be completed before end of the calendar year
  • The DPF Coordinator will monitor projects in an ongoing manner to ensure project objectives and timeframes are being met
  • A written interim report may be requested (usually half way through the agreed duration of the project). A final report will be required at project completion, including an expenditure summary sheet, documentation and invoices

Applications will be assessed on the following Selection Criteria

  • Direct benefit to UTS students and/or staff with disability
  • Demonstrated response to specific needs of people with disability at UTS
  • Cost: benefit ratio
  • Capacity to successfully complete and deliver project goals within the required time frame (e.g. resources, skills, time, commitment)
  • Projects with 50% funding provided from another budget will be viewed preferentially
  • Projects which are disability-led will also be viewed preferentially. Disability-led means that the project manager, or over 50% of the project team, are people with disability

Application Process

  • Complete this application form, attach any supporting documentation, and email it to , with the words ‘Disability Project Fund’ in the subject line
  • Applications may be accepted in other formats, however please preference typing rather than handwriting for accessibility for the selection panel
  • Applications should be no more than 3 pages in length (excluding any budget sheets)
  • Applications will be assessed by a selection panel and you will be advised of the outcome
  • Equity & Diversity Unit may seek additional information from you if required
