Joshua 1: 8This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success.NKJV

Keep the BOOK:

  1. In your MOUTH.
  • If the Book is in your mouth, other things can’t be.
  • (Who do you talk to the most? Answer: Yourself)
  • You are to speak the WORD to yourself.
  • You are to speak the WORD to others.
  • Hebrews 4: 12For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.NKJV
  • Speak the WORD over everything you can. Imagine only giving an answer that was biblically based?!?!?!
  • Song of Moses – Deuteronomy 32. God told Moses to put this song in their mouth.
  1. On your MIND
  • If the Book is in your mind, other things can’t be.
  • Meditate means to focus one’s mind for an extended period of time upon one thing.
  • Practice meditating on:Psalm 119: 105Your word is a lamp to my feet And a light to my path.NKJV
  • Deuteronomy 6: 7-9You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, when you walk by the way, when you lie down, and when you rise up.8You shall bind them as a sign on your hand, and they shall be as frontlets between your eyes.9 You shall write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates.NKJV
  1. In your WALK
  • James says we deceive ourselves when we think we have changed because we have heard something.
  • We in the US are over fed and under nourished. McDonald’s has raised a generation that is overweight but malnourished.
  • James 1: 22But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves.NKJV
  • You learn more by doing than you ever will be hearing.
  • Forgive one another takes on a whole new meaning when you have to do it!
  1. That you may be PROSPEROUS
  • You will make your way, path or journey prosperous.

  • The laws of God work for everyone. Sowing and reaping doesn’t just work for Christians.
  • Prosperous means to make progress, be profitable and succeed.
  1. Attain GOOD SUCCESS
  • There are successes that aren’t good! We want GOOD success.
  • Success – possessing understanding and wisdom to the degree that you are able to instruct others.
  • I Timothy 4: 13-15Till I come, give attention to reading, to exhortation, to doctrine.14Do not neglect the gift that is in you, which was given to you by prophecy with the laying on of the hands of the eldership.15Meditate on these things; give yourself entirely to them, that your progress may be evident to all. NKJV
