  1. Object of tender

SCHOTT AMIRAN®anti-reflective glass is a mineral based glass with an optical-interference coating. The anti-reflection coating can be applied on one or both surfaces and can be used for example on outside windows, display blackboards, advertising displays, boxes at sport stadiums, reception areas or show cases. The coating is applied with a dip coating which is burnt into the glass.

Offered product:

Base material

Technical data

Glass substrateExtra-clear low-iron float glass

Luminous reflectance ρvD65approx. 1 %

Luminous transmittance τvD65approx. 98 %

Color rendering index Ra100

Thermal transmittance Ug5.8

Total solar energy transmittance factor gapprox. 90 %

UV transmittance factor τUV63 %

The values refer to a glass thickness of 4 mm for monolithic glasses and are calculated based on the standards DIN EN 410 und DIN EN 673.

Notes on the coating

For single and insulating glazing, both surfaces of the low-iron glass are anti-reflective. In case of insulating glass, all surfaces in contact with the air - including those in the space between the panes - must be anti-reflective.

For manufacturing laminated glass (including attack-blocking glazing and sound insulating glass) AMIRAN® one-side coated is required. The uncoated surface must be on the laminate side, i.e. in contact with the film or resin layer. One-sided AMIRAN® is marked with labels on the anti-reflective side.

  1. Relevant norms / Quality

For the “appearance“of laminated glass and laminated safety glass the requirementsaccording to DIN EN ISO 12543-6 are relevant.

Visual quality: Guideline for evaluating the visual quality of glass in the building industry

Test processes

Testing of adhesion of the coating according to (DIN ISO 9211-4) ISO 9211-4-02-03

Testing of corrosion resistance of the coating according to DIN EN ISO 9227 - CASS and DIN EN ISO 9227 – NSS

Testing of corrosion resistance of the coating according DIN EN 1096-2 class A

Testing of climate resistance of the coating according to DIN EN ISO 6270-2-CH
