$750 RECRUITMENT GRANT

FOR A SENIOR GIRL INTERESTED IN BECOMING A TEACHER

Offered by:

Psi Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma, an international honorary society composed of women educators, offers a grant to a graduating high school girl in Kennewick. She should plan to focus on education in college with the intent of becoming a teacher.

Applicants will be evaluated on the following:

  1. Academic achievement (submit official copy of transcript)
  1. Character
  1. Leadership
  1. Recommendations of school teachers and/or administrators
  1. Applicant’s statement explaining reasons for choosing education as a career and why she feels deserving of this scholarship (attach to application form)

Method of Application:

Return application to your high school counselor in charge of scholarship by:

Friday, May 12, 2017.

Judging of Applicants:

Applicants will be judged and the recipient and alternate will be designated by the Scholarship Committee of Delta Kappa Gamma, Psi Chapter.

Announcement:

The recipient and alternate will be notified in writing shortly after the due date. The recipient will be invited to our dinner meetingin September (if not already at school). The recipient’s high school will also be notified so that the name will be placed in the graduation program.

Award Specifics:

The recruitment grant shall consist of $750.00 to be awarded by check after the successful completion of the first college quarter or semester. Recipient must submit a copy of college transcript to the Psi Chapter Treasurer. At that time the recipient must also indicate where she wants the check to be sent: 1) to the college registrar to be deposited in recipient’s student account, or 2) directly to the recipient.

Surrender of recruitment grant:

Surrender of grant shall be made should recipient decide not to attend college, in which case the recipient must notify the Psi Chapter Treasurer.

Alternate:

An alternate shall be announced and will be eligible for scholarship funds should the recipient not qualify.
