Joint Master Program ENERESE for WB partners

Prof. dr Ćemal Dolićanin, Prof. dr Božidar Stanić, StateUniversity of Novi Pazar:

Summary of past and current ENERESE activities and activities at State University of Novi Pazar

  • Actual Project Reports have made in accordance of project-packages and theyare available on Project web-site .
  • Review current situation per WB region countries: Serbia and Montenegro have completed subject Curriculum, while Bosnia and Herzegovina are working on it taking into account common project results and some state specificities
  • Final preparation in Serbia are on-going (curriculum, professors, assistants, number of students, etc.)
  • Representatives of local TEMPUS office in Serbia have done monitoring visit at the State University of Novi Pazar. Feedback report from Brussels related to monitoring visitwas favorable.

Prof. Dr. GradimirIlić, University of Niš, Faculty of Mechanical Engineering:

  • They are ready for the beginning of Program; as well as other Universities in Serbia, University of Niš is ready to give its support to the joint structure of the future joint ENERESE program – combining teaching staff, laboratory equipment and infrastructure.

Prof. Dr. Maja Todorović, University of Belgrade, Faculty of Mechanical Engineering:

  • They are preparing currently the contents and teaching materials for five courses at the joint ENERESE Program.

Prof. Dr. Dragoslav Šumarac, Serbian Chamber of Engineers:

  • Overview of involvement of the Chamber in academic education programs dealing with energy efficiency. The Chamber issues licenses for certain professional qualifications. The Chamber is now authorized to issue a license for energy efficiency for buildings to four types of engineers: civil, mechanical, electrical, architecture.Requirements are (1) four years of professional experience and (2) completion of a professional course with contents designed by the Chamber according to legal regulations. About 1300 persons have passed the exam. Description of thematic chapters of the professional course and commitment to co-operate with the ENERESE program. The Chamber sees itself as a motivated partner of ENERESE.

Prof. dr Radenko Pejović, University of Montenegro, Faculty of Civil Engineering:

He sent his apologies for being unable to participate. Professor Stanić transposed the information got from Professor Pejović that they acscepted identical study program with the corresponding joint program at Serbian universities and they are ready for the cooperation between universities with teachers and students exchange.Representatives of local TEMPUS office in Montenegro, together with the EU representatives will do monitoring visit at the Faculty of Civil Engineering in Podgorica next week.

Prof. dr Mustafa Hrasnica, Prof. dr Samir Dolarević, Faculty of Civil Engineering,University of Sarajevo:

  • Overview of the University of Sarajevo and the study programs at the Faculty of Civil Engineeringhas been presented.
  • They will use common project results with some differences adapted to Bosnia and Herzegovina specificities and current circumstances at their Faculty.
  • No deadline was mentioned for the start-up of the ENERESE Program.
  • Still in the process of deciding the title of the degree to be awarded to students upon graduation. Suggestion by Prof. Samir Dolarević: Master of Energy Efficiency, Renewable Energy Sources and Environmental impacts.
  • Representatives of local TEMPUS office in Bosnia and Herzegovina will do monitoring visit at the Faculty of Civil Engineering in Sarajevo next week.

Dr. Milovan Kotur, Assistant, Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, University of Banja Luka:

  • He presented the review prepared by the absent Professor Petar Gvero with the expectation that Master Program organized in cooperation with the Faculty of Architecture will be useful and wider framework for energy efficiency in Republic of Srpska.
  • No deadline was mentioned for the start-up of the ENERESE Program.

After these presentations discussion about the regional specificities has been done. Mostly, on focus were state regulations, both in the field of energy efficiency and high education system.

Session 2

09:50 Project Expenses (originally scheduled as Session 3)

Prof. drĆemal Dolićanin, State University of Novi Pazar presented project finance aspects:

  • predicted finance sources are transfered to the project partners,
  • once again, Professor Dolićanin underlined necessity of respectation TEMPUS rules and procedures,
  • he informed participants about the tender procedures for equipment: according to the TEMPUS procedures there are two options, one is centralized procurement that will realize State University of Novi Pazar on behalf of all WB universities and second is procurement per countries; second one is more acceptable for the present participants, but they will make final decision soon.
  • The project participants are agreed to buy textbook (syllabus) of Professor Dr. Sašo Medved, University of Ljubljana, Department of Mechanical Engineering, that is very relevant for this curricula; each university will buy two copies.

Session 3

11:00 Project Activities for the 2nd year (2014) and the 3rdProject year (2015)

As the invited quest on this meeting, short speach provided Ms. R. Cupac, project manager in UNDP office in Banjaluka:

  • she informed present participants about the opportunities that have been launched by the UNDP in WB countries related with subject of ENERESE project,
  • main focus of the isues is energy efficiency (for instance, NAMAs is one) – policy work and educational activities and participation of universities are very welcome,
  • no double financing is allowed for activities within the ENERESE Program but supporting activities, such as study trips, etc. could be funded.

Prof. Stanić, StateUniversity of Novi Pazar:

  • he stressed cooperation and experience exchange between WB universities and EU universities that are ENERESE project partners
  • two weeks mobility for 12 lecturers and 12 teaching assistants from WB partners equally distributed over the four EU universities (timeline not defined),
  • two weeks mobility for one student from each WB partner to visit an EU partner(timeline not defined).

Prof. Dr. Jan Bujnak, University of Zilina, Department of Civil Engineering:

  • He expressed readiness of his university to contribution to the project in accordance with Project work packages.

Prof. Stanic: 2nd and 3rd Project year:

  • Condensed courses (30 lectures in one week) on selected topics (not yet defined how many) from academic staff (number not yet defined) of the four EU universities at each WB partner.
  • After completion of the ENERESE TEMPUS Project all these courses must be taught by teaching staff of the WB partners. They will also supervise Master Thesis work.

MBA Nicoleta Gurita, TU Bergakademie Freiberg:

  • She gave a presentation of the International Summer School "On the Cutting Edge of Sustainable Energy Supply" of TU Bergakademie Freiberg: five weeks payable education project covering a wide range of technologies for renewable energy, including lab work and field trips, eleventh edition in 2014 from May 26 to July 20,
  • Full fee is 1,700 Euros for participants of official partner universities of TU Bergakademie Freiberg and 2,500 Euros for other participants. Options will be explored for WB teaching staff to select two weeks of attendance and for fixing participation fees (out of the ENERESE TEMPUS Project budget) by January 2014.

Round table on the further steps for the ENERSE Project:

  • November 2013 and December 2014: Initiating the process of admission of students at the University of Novi Pazar. Start-up of the ENERESE Program in December 2013.
  • Timeline still open: Finish the organizational process for starting the ENERESE Program at the University of Banja Luka and Sarajevo.
  • Next study visit and coordination meeting will be held AT THE ARISTOTLE UNIVERSITY OF THESSALONIKI (AUTH) at the last week of February or the beginning of March 2014.
  • Planning of the next study visit and coordination meeting of the ENERESE Project Status at EU partner TU Bergakademie Freiberg at the last week of April or the beginning of May 2014.
  • 2014 and 2015: Planning of two weeks visits by teachers, teachers assistants and students from WB partner universitiesto EU partner universities(number still not defined)
  • 2014 and 2015: Planning of one week mobility by teaching staff (number still not defined) of EU partners to WB partner universities
