EG-I Questions for Sheets

All Questions are compulsory

  1. A line AB, 75 mm long is inclined at an angle of 35° to the HP and 55° to the VP. Its end point ‘A’ is on the HP and 15 mm infront of the VP. Draw the projections of the line AB assuming it to be in the first quadrant.
  2. The point A of 80mm long line AB is 20mm above the HP and 60mm in front of VP. The end point B is 15mm in front of VP, while its plan measures 65mm. Draw the projections of a line, and find the inclinations made by the line with HP and VP. Also locate the traces of line.
  3. An isosceles triangle ABC having its base AB=40 mm and altitude 60 mm is resting on the VP on its base AB. Draw the projections of the plane when its surface is inclined to VP at an angle of 45° and the base AB which is on the VP is making an angle of 50° to the HP.
  4. ABC is an equilateral triangle of side 60 mm long. Its corner A is on HP and side BC is 20 mm above HP. Draw the projections of the triangle when side BC is inclined to VP at an angle of 50°. Find the inclination of plane with HP and VP.
  5. A square pyramid, side of base 35mm and axis length 50 mm is lying on the HP on one of its triangular faces. Draw the projections of the pyramid when the base edge contained by the triangular face on HP makes an angle of 45° on the VP keeping apex of the pyramid towards the observer.
  6. A hexagonal pyramid, side of base 30 mm and axis length 70 mm is resting on the HP on one of its base edges in such a way that its apex is 55 mm above the HP. Draw the projections of the pyramid when the base edges which is on the HP is parallel to VP keep apex of the solid in VP.
  7. Construct an ellipse when the distance of the focus from the directrix is equal to 50 mm and the eccentricity is 2/3.
  8. A point ‘P’ is moving around the surface of a cylinder of 30 mm diameter at uniform speed and at the same time, it advances in the direction of axis by 60 mm also with uniform speed. Draw the path of the moving point and name the curve.
  9. Draw involute of a circle, with diameter 40 mm for one convolution.
  10. A circle of 40 mm diameter rolls along a straight line without slipping. Draw the curve traced out by a point P on the circumference, for one complete revolution of the circle. Name the curve.
  11. Draw the development of a hexagonal prism with base side 25 mm and axis height 50 mm.
  12. Draw the development of lateral surface of pentagonal pyramid of base side 30 mm and axis height 60 mm.
