Dear member,

What a great summer East Antrim has had (barring the weather!). We had two fabulous, very well attended camps – thanks again to Shane and Celia and George and Ashley. Well done to all who represented EAPC at all the Area Competitions across the summer – we had some spectacular results and it was wonderful to see so many of you out there representing the branch. Congratulations to all those who competed at Championships and Zone Games and flew the flag for EAPC across the water.

As you can see we have a busy autumn programme ahead of us.

We will be using a mixture of indoor and outdoor venues. For outdoor venues if the weather is bad please keep an eye on the facebook page or call me (07791 504453) , Richard (07971 815005) or Penny (07833 771771) We try very hard not to cancel anything and will run if we can but there are just times when the weather is not on our side.

Rallies remain at £10 and please remember that if you book in and are unable to go, you will still have to pay unless we are able to fill your space. This may seem harsh but we still have to cover our venue and instructor costs.

Dengie Competitions

Please see the separate attachment for information regarding the Dengie dressage and show jumping competitions. We are running the Dengie Dressage final (Sunday 25th March at Connell Hill) as our Area competition in 2018 and it would be great to see lots of EAPC qualifiers there.

SJ Course

We are running a series of show jumping lessons in this programme. One aimed at those jumping 75 cm up and one at those jumping lower heights. Please note that these three week courses come as a block and you need to book in and pay for all three sessions.

Stable Management

The stable management sessions are defined by test standards and we are planning to have groups for D+and C and D/E. if you are unsure which standard you should be aiming for, please speak to Penny (07833 771771).

Turn out

Please remember East Antrim expect their members to be correctly turned out at all times. There have been occasions recently when members have attended rallies in bright coloured jodhpurs and hoodies. Pony club sweatshirts and polo shirts or EAPC ‘skins’, and light coloured jodhpurs should be worn, unless otherwise arranged. Coats should be dark colours and numnahs white, black, navy or brown. Long hair in hair nets please and black or navy hat silks (unless it is cross country).

Please contact Lavinia (07745 165920) if you need clothing, or contact any committee member if you are in doubt about what to wear.

Ball

We have anew venue for the ball this year at Corr’s Corner. Tickets will be £22 for adults and non-members over 12, £12 for members and £5 for under 5s.

As usual we will be making up ‘horsey hampers’ to raffle on the night. All donations are welcome – either horsey items eg brushes, tail bandage, treats or money that is then used to purchase items for the hampers. We ask for a donation of around £5 per family. Items can be put into the collection trug at Doagh Farm Feeds or given to Hayley or Celia.

Please make sure all cups are engraved, cleaned and returned to Rachel (07803 830655) by Saturday 4th November at the latest.

Looking forward to seeing you at the various events on the programme.

Hayley and Richard.
