Don't Wait Too Long

Don't Wait Too Long

“Don't Wait Too Long!”

Proverbs 1:22-33

INTRO.Wouldn't it be convenient, if we all knew when and how our existence down here would end? If you are saved, you could work harder for the LORD, the closer it came for your time to leave. And if you are lost, you could accept Christ, as Savior, just in the nick of time.

But none of us, can say with certainty, when it is our time. In James 4:14, the Scripture says, "…What is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away." Again, in Proverbs 27:1, “Boast not thyself of tomorrow; for thou knowest not what a day may bring forth."

Those two scriptures alone should motivate us to seek God. If you're saved, to serve Him with all you have; and if you're lost to believe in Him. But we, humans, all to an extent, have a problem with procrastination. We put off things we should do or need to do, sometimes until it is too late!

We have good intentions, but we don't seem to follow through with them. When it is convenient for us, we will do this or that. But God wants our love and obedience now. What will you do? Will you heed Him or wait? It's up to you, but don't wait too long!

Our Text is speaking of WISDOM. But the first step in wisdom is the fear of the LORD. For in Proverbs 1:7, it tells us, “The fear of the LORD is the beginning of Knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and

understanding.” And Proverbs 9:10 says, “The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the Holy is understanding.” God is calling out to men today! To some he is calling on them to repent and trust in Him. For others he is calling to them to remember their calling and follow His will. Time is of the essence…
