Equipment:

1.  Hi-Lo

2.  Pen/Pencil

3.  Clipboard

4.  Required Tallies and Load Header Sheets

5.  Labels

General Guidelines:

1)  Follow all lift truck regulations.

2)  Perform inspection via Forklift Checklist at the start of your shift.

5)  Any additional duties that need to be completed and/or may be requested by the Supervisor.

6)  At the end of each shift park Forklift in designated parking area

Instructions:

Breaking Inbound Loads

1)  Dock Supervisor assigns load to be worked, and gives the Dockman the supporting paperwork.

2)  Proceed to assigned Trailer (Supervisor will tell you what Door it’s in or it will be written on the upper left hand corner of your paperwork.

3)  Release chains or open the Dock Door, Pull the dock plate, check the trailer for any visible damage, and ensure the trailer is chocked.

4)  Verify Trailer Number in the Dock Door to your Paperwork, if it does not match – get your Supervisor to resolve.

5)  If there is any visible Damage, notify your Supervisor immediately. The following steps will then be followed:

·  Dock Supervisor will take a digital picture of Damaged Material

·  You need to complete the top portion of the NCP form (FB64) and your Supervisor will complete the bottom portion.

·  A copy of the NCP sheet will be attached to the Damaged Material and then moved over to the NCP area on the Dock to be held until the Plant gives word to release the material.

NOTE: DO NOT PLACE ANYTHING IN THE NCP AREA WITHOUT A NCP FORM ATTACHED WITH ALL REQURIED FIELDS COMPLETED ON THE FORM!

6)  If there is no visible Damage, proceed to unload Trailer.

7)  When possible, work/verify your freight off the inbound Trailer. (Do not unload entire Trailer to the Dock and then check it all in, try to pull one shipment off at a time and put away to save room on the dock for traffic flow).

8)  Verify freight against the Tally/MGO Print Screen or Packing Slip by checking off or placing a circle around the quaintly.

NOTE: TO SHOW VERIFICATION OF EACH PART NUMBER, YOU MUST DOCUMENT THE # OF CARTONS BY THE STANDARD PACK QTY FOR EACH APRT ON THE TALLY/PRINT SCREEN OR PACKING SLIP. EXAMPLE: 5X20

9)  If your shipment has a master label, you need to note that on your paperwork next to the quantity received by simply writing M/L on you paperwork. By doing this, its makes the Supplier accountable for the quantity shipped on that pallet.

10) If any discrepancies are found (Overage or Shortage) notify your supervisor immediately for verification. The following will need to occur:

·  Supervisor will verify your overage or shortage.

·  You will complete a Material Exception Report (FB52), you will complete the top portion and your Supervisor will complete the bottom.

·  Make a copy of your Tally/Print Screen or Packing Slip and attach to the Material Exception Report.

·  Supervisor will forward Exception Report and copy of your Tally to the Traffic Supervisor for further action.

·  Keep your copy of the Tally until unloading process is complete.

11) Upon the completion of the freight verification process, distribute material as follows:

·  BULK Stored Material - by looking at your Tally or the supplier label on the freight you can determine if its Bulk Stored by the DLOC. All Bulk Stored material will have a DLOC beginning with the letter B followed with 3 numeric characters. EXAMPLE: B102. Move the material to the designated DLOC in the Stock isle.

·  BULK Direct Material - Bulk Direct will have a DLOC beginning with a D, EXAMPLE: D69X.

This freight needs to be staged in the designated staging area. Each area Bulk Dock will have its own Direct freight staging area. D69A or C, D69X, D60Y or Z, D61X and so on. So if its D69X material, place it in the D9X staging area.

·  CMA (CARTON STORED MATERIAL) - Using the DLOC, determine what staging isle to place the material. CMA rows are 100-600. So if a DLOC is 601A then you would place the material at the end of the stocking isle, section 600. The material will then be placed by the stocker in row 600, section 601 shelf A.

·  CROSS DOCK – This is material that we load directly to a outbound trailer for the Plant or the Sequence Center. A good guide for determining Cross Dock Material is the Dock Code. For example, if the Dock Code is BRC12SEQ, that would tell you that the freight will come into CMA), it then goes over to the Sequence Center to Door 12 and is a Sequence part. Your Tally should have written on it what outbound delivery is will go on. For at example at the top of your Tally, it should read L08. Take your freight to the L08 door and complete the following:

o  Load Freight onto the designated trailer

o  Manifest your shipment on the Trailer Loading Tally hanging in the door, enter in your SID#, # of pallets, total weight, and initials.

o  Place your completed tally in the cubby hole above the Trailer Loading Tally

NOTE: Freight with a Dock code/DLOC of 999 will be loaded in the nose of a Dock 65 shuttle trailer and the bill will be manifested on the Trailer Load Report and placed into the cubby hole for that trailer. Once a trailer is about 50% full, do not put any more on, you need to leave room for the Dock 65 material. Any excess freight will be staged for the next available trailer.

·  ECS – Complete NCP Form (FB64), attach to the freight and place in NCP area.

12) As you are working your Trailer, document on your Load Header Sheet (a summary sheet of all shipments on your trailer) note next to each shipment where you placed the material. EXAMPLE: If you placed the freight in the CMA Staging lanes, write “CMA”, if it’s a stored part, write “stock”, for any Cross Dock material you may have had, write the TRAILER # next to the shipment.

13) Once you have completely unloaded your trailer, take your completed Load Header sheet and remaining Tallies (you will tallies left for all the material you staged, or placed in a DLOC, the Cross Dock material tallies should be placed in their corresponding “cubby holes” by the outbound trailer)

14) Place the tallies in the “Shipments to be received in a status 7” basket.

15) Return your completed Load Header Sheet to your Supervisor and get your next assignment.
