2016-2017
8th Grade
Video Project
Each group will work together to create a 2-5 minute long video that will aim to share or teach a certain lesson we have covered in class so far. Groups will work together to brainstorm ideas, write a script, plan the staging of each scene, act, direct, and produce the video. The video project will be worked on as a group in class over the next 2 weeks.
Individual students will also be required to produce work. Each student will be required to produce a promotional poster, program, or video advertisement to correspond to the group project. The individual project will be due on November 8th. The individual project will need to highlight the teaching points or goals of the group project, citing sources (ex. The Bible, the Catechism, textbook, etc.). The individual project will need to show creativity and effort.
Along with the promotional creative project for each individual, students will need to submit a 1 page typed report. Reports should be double spaced, size 12 font, and fill the page completely. Reports should seek to answer and explore the below questions.
Why is it important for the Catholic Church to enter into new media platforms?
How can the Church use this new media to share the Gospel message?
The teaching point our group has chosen is important for other young people to know about. Why?
What are some ways that I can assist in helping the Church spread its Gospel message through new media?
