About us
The European Cab Team is responsible for managing the EMA business for components in the areas of exterior parts such as mirrors, painted plastics parts, lighting, roof, air deflector..but also interior parts such as climate systems, wall trim/headlining, seats… Cab purchasing is a part of Volvo Group ‘s Vehicle Purchasing.Vehicle Purchasing is a global organization within Group Trucks Purchasing representing a yearly purchased spend of 31 BSEK.
Vehicle Europe Purchasing being the Strategic steering line for vehicle purchasing activities within GTP, we organize a strong collaboration within vehicle purchasing teams spread across different sites/regions, and we are also the operational line responsible for Vehicle Europe business all along the Purchasing process (sourcing/projects/operations/revenue service parts). GTP Vehicle Europe purchasing team is responsible to drive end to end Purchasing activities whilst securing QDCF-TSR (Quality, Delivery, Cost, Feature, Technology, Sustainability and Risk Management) targets.
This project will be handled within the Cab Purchasing team.

Description of thesis work
This thesis aims to investigate and benchmark the best practices that can secure Volvo a leading edge on new innovative prodcuts.

Suitable background
The ideal student(-s) will possess good communications skills in English, shows a high level of initiative, be self-driven, have good analytical capabilities and preferably have an interest in the automotive industry.
The successful candidate should have strong interpersonal and social skills and should be willing to travel if necessary in order to meet internal stakeholders and external companies for benchmark.
The candidate should have a bachelor degree in Economics or Engineering and is now completing his/her Masters.
Any experience within the field of automotive from past projects will be seen as an advantage.
